I had muscle pain due to over extending myself at the gym and decided to try out a neighborhood massage center based on great reviews. I chose Maya! Maya is located in a 2 story green building on Topanga Canyon. Free parking is offered in the back and you walk around to the front of the building on Topanga to enter. Simply sign in and pay upfront with a menu of options that are clearly displayed with pricing. The staff is very warm and welcoming. I came in without an appointment and they took me straight away. My Swedish Massage felt a little bit like Swedish and a little bit Thai (stretching) and it felt absolutely INCREDIBLE! Read moreI’ve been here a few times the first and second trips here were great and so I planned to come back. However this last experience will probably be my last visit to maya Thai spa. The massage I received was the clumsiest massage I’ve ever gotten. It felt like the masseuse had never massaged anyone before. It was uncomfortable to lay through and since I’m not one to be a brat I just paid, left a very meager tip and went on my way. However the next day my entire neck, back and shoulders where so incredibly stiff and Sore in the areas that were massaged (poorly). I’ve broken my spine twice and my tailbone, so to say the least I’ve been having horrible back problems for about 2-3 Years now. today I took a shot in the dark and let me tell you, she is a magician, she is such and expert and her techniques are crazy, with one session she took care of a lot of it already, an issue my spine specialist has been trying to figure out for 2 years and tanya literally just found it going over my back.
