March 2025 I love all their store brand salsas!!!! You must try them! I tried their aguachile and was able to sample the juices before selecting which one to buy. I loved both the aguachili sinaloa and the aguachile negro. I chose the negro! The agua frescas all looked really refreshing too!
I came home and added the aguachile to top off my chopped salad and it was delicious! I think these aguachiles can be a fabulous Bloody Mary, or if you want soup, just add water!
Northgate is always a fun place to browse and shop. First time for me to check out this Mexican grocery store! WOW! The staff are very kind helpful!
This is a grocery store with readymade meals to go, hot chocolate, and more! At first it is overwhelming, but take your time, ask for help, and you will find your way here.
I got an array of readymade House salsas to try, along with a pint of their house made fresh guacamole! I sampled the spicy one with habenero chilis and it was spicy good!
I also picked up their fresh tortillas. I picked up a readymade chile relleno, 4 rellenos, that just needed to be heated up. I asked a staff member how to heat it up, and he asked if I was going to eat them soon. I told him YES! I was going home to eat them! So he guided me to the area where there were hot freshly made chile rellenos and told the woman behind the counter to put together 4 for me. He took away the readymade cold chile rellenos back. It was brought out in a rectangular foil baking pan with a lid and I was told it was VERY HOT, which is was!!!! Yay!
As soon as I got home, my husband I devoured these and added the various salsas I bought! YUMMMMMM!
Prices are reasonable. Huge parking lot on site. There is a small area by the entrance to eat, but you are on barstools, facing the wall. So this is not a grocery store where one can sit down with a friend to eat your readymade food.
I loved browsing and shopping here today! Thank you for the kind patient staff that made my first time here a...

As a loyal customer of over many years, dating back to when this location was Top Value store, I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the service I have received at the Northgate Market meat department. Despite my initial excitement about the store's renovations, my recent experiences have left me feeling fed up.
Specifically, I have encountered three employees in the meat department who seem to lack supervision, appearing tired, stressed, and displaying friction among themselves. I would like to bring the following issues to your attention:
Employees are not wearing name badges, making it difficult to identify them. A male employee, wearing a face mask and having multiple tattoos, consistently displays a bad temper, yelling numbers, and ignoring customers' questions. He also throws packaged meat on the counter, showing a lack of customer service skills.
As a manager myself, I would address these issues urgently. I have noticed some improvements, such as meat rotation and presentation during the grand opening, but these efforts seem to wane in the late afternoons, with some meat appearing stale and dry.
As a bulk meat purchaser, I spend significant amounts of money at this store, but I can no longer continue to stress and deal with the same employees without seeing changes after multiple complaints. I hope this feedback helps ownership become aware of these issues and take necessary actions before losing loyal customers like myself.
Im not giving one star as my review since I have had great experience with the cashiers and had a great experience with a gentleman from the deli department. He was very informative and helpful while I was trying to decide what to...
Read moreThis is one location of a entire chain throughout Los Angeles. I describe them as Little Gems of Los Angeles. They are a true window into the Latino Market. They make their own tortillas on site, the food court is amazing, fruit and vegetable prices cannot be beat and the staff and management seems as friendly as they get. For first-timers to the food court, start with a Carnitas or chicken taco "con total", which means onions cilantro and a little mild salsa. Get about a third of a pound of ceviche. This is a cold Citrus cooked fish dish that's just fantastic. If you like citrus like lemons and limes you'll really enjoy this. Get one scoop of the chunky guacamole. And definitely try their salsa verde dish of the day. Salsa verde simply means in green sauce. They usually have one in chicken, pork and beef. These stews are just incredible. I've never been a big fan of their sweet cookies and rolls. So to me the bakery is just okay. They do have the freshest tortillas and chips in town. Try them with some El Salvadorian Crema and habanero Brown salsa. If you're born and raised in America, do realize that in Mexico their beef and chicken are raised differently and therefore has a slightly different taste. Some people notice, some don't. I haven't noticed any difference at the food court, except the chicken, but I have noticed in their packaged...
