If you look towards the east you will see America's larger ocean container port. It's an amazing sight. If you look towards the west you see California's beautiful suburban coastline and Catalina Island. The park itself is large and and has many picnic tables, some on the edge of the park which is on a cliff over the ocean. It's a very nice place to hang out for a couple of hours. There's a "biker bar restaurant" across the parking lot on the very east side of the park. It is a very colorful place that would make an interesting backdrop for a movie. But unfortunately the food is not that good. There's a nice "local" restaurant close by called the "Lighthouse Deli" that is very popular with the local residents. It's at 508 W 39th Street.
