Potted — Attraction in Los Angeles

UPDATE: 3618 I recently learned the person referred to in this review is not one of the owners but rather a woman who has worked in the store for a long time pretending to be the owner. This information makes a small difference, but... I tried going back to the store. It is a resource I have missed, but no. The experience was so embarrassing and uncomfortable that I just don't think of potted with the same warm thoughts I once had. As long as a store employees people who behave in the manor of this awful woman I can't spend my money there. Mind you, I spend on average about 500.00 a year so I won't be missed. It a real shame.......................(Original comment) I’ve always enjoyed this store and the great service, however on more than one occasion now one of the owners has been in. Wow, she can be really unkind and almost nasty. At first I thought she might be having a bad day. No excuse, but we all have them. Nope. 3 times a charm. Amazing, thoughtful and lovely small business. The plant and pot selection was awesome (had a great range in prices). I coordinated a potting workshop for my birthday and Thommy was patient and wonderful with helping me set that up even when I had more than a few requests :D. They have a room in the back of the gardening portion that they had set up a table and chairs for about 10 people. Doors were left open to the workshop area so it had a very free flowing feel to it. We had brought a few drinks and made it a byob private succulent workshop for my birthday. The workshop taught us how to properly plant, water and keep our succulents alive in any condition. Then we were off to find the perfect pot + plant combo with the attention and guidance from our instructor. All the friends loved the experience and went home very happy with their own creation. We will all be back!...

We had just come from another plant nursery so we knew the moment we saw the prices that everything at Potted was slightly overpriced. Alas, my friend fell in love with a lovely plant and had a pot with her that she'd just purchased from the previous nursery. When she went up they asked if she'd like them to repot the plant and she said yes, thinking like any rational person would that if repotting cost additional they would let her know, but no. She received her receipt and there was an EIGHT DOLLAR CHARGE FOR REPOTTING.

The store is so pretty, every plant is thriving, but like any respectable customer, I want to know what I'm paying for ahead of time. I'm never coming back here again less I want to find additional line items creeping onto an already...
