WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!
I had the assumption based on so many Tesla owners telling me that they LOVE their Tesla and it being such a massive luxury car company, that my experiences would be nothing but top notch. Much to my surprise, this has not been the case.
Took delivery of a pre-owned 2016 Model S on 2/2/2019 in Marina Del Rey CA. Prior to purchasing the car, I was informed by a Tesla rep that there is no reported body work or precious’s damage to the car, so I moved forward and purchased this previous leased car with approximately 28K miles.
Delivery at Marina Del Rey left a lot to be desired. Car was not ready when my wife and I arrived. The rep told us that he was not supposed to be the one doing our delivery, but he would “find some time to do it.” His knowledge of the car was mediocre at best and wanted us to submit payment for the car and sign before we even saw the car..... ummmm, no thanks. Walk around of the car, it looked good, but it hadn’t been thoroughly washed as you would expect. There were leaves in some of the cracks of the car even. Wheel wells had dirt and traces of mud in them. The rep did not walk us through the functions of the car and even told us it had features that it didn’t. He didn’t know how to operate the key fob properly. Very poor presentation.
After a few weeks of having the car home, the front license plate bracket was removed to put on an aftermarket bracket. It was then found to be obvious that the front bumper had been painted and clear coated with it on the car and around the license plate bracket. In talking to a Tesla approved body shop, this is not up to Tesla standards. I made an appointment 3 weeks away as it was the first available.
Upon arriving at the service center in the Los Angeles are, everyone was nice. I spoke with Alex who told me that this is not covered by the Tesla used car warranty. I eventually spoke with a manager who also told me that it is now my problem to deal with. It seems that Tesla should have found this issue when they took in the lease return, and confronted the previous owner about it. The clear coat is starting to delaminates from the car that I just purchased. I was told that the best they could do is to get me a quote from their approved body shop and they would call me later that day with a quote.
The next day came and no call, so I reached out to them. I was placed on hold for 45 minutes and then told that they would “leave Alex a message to call me back.” No call back that day. I called again today, and Doreen the operator was extremely rude on the phone, talking over me. I was on hold for 2 HOURS waiting for someone to answer my question about the quote. No one answered and Doreen came back on telling me that Alex is not even in the office today, and she has apparently been trying to get someone else to help me. When she finally asked me after 2 hours about the specifics, she told me “we can’t do that, we don’t paint bumpers here.” I told her that I completely understand that they do not perform body work. She said “so you’re trying to get Tesla to pay for this?!?” And I said “Absolutely, it should be.” And she replied that she can’t help me and I will just have to wait until Alex gets back to me. I asked her what her name is and she hung up on me. I called back and she told me her name and that “I have people standing right in front of me that need my help too.” She gave me many excuses on the phone that they are very busy.... really?!? Too busy to answer the phone in the course of 2 hours and give me some solid information? RIDICULOUS.
I tried to call corporate but all I heard was “we are not able to answer your call right now.” Not what I expected out of a multi-billion dollar company. I’m sure this isn’t what Elon would expect. Selling a car without disclosing repairs that were done to it. I’m going to keep pressing forward, and hopefully Tesla will step up and make...
Read moreI had the worst experience test driving a Tesla here. I wanted to confirm my appointment by phone, as I had some issues with the booking site. It is endlessly frustrating to try and get someone on the phone at Tesla (a real person). I just decided to come in early to play it safe.
I got there early for my appointment, asked someone working there that if I could be helped. They looked busy and told me to wait until my appointment time. It was fine enough, I relaxed in my car and went back in when my appointment started. I was not late when I came back. It looked like a 2 families and a group of young women and had gone in and been helped before me. Maybe they were late for their appointments, or they possibly knew the folks working there. But they passed me in "line" so to speak, and the workers looked so busy that no one had any time to attend to me. About 20 minutes later someone finally freed up, but I had to wait another 20ish minutes before they had a Model 3 ready for me to test drive.
I brought up that it appeared that some other people had gone in front of me. They barely acknowledged it and rushed me to the car. I understand that sometimes its hard to juggle things when work gets busy, but I really expected to be treated like every other customer. Especially because I was here early, and was just told to wait. While others that came in after me, were attended to before me. It really felt like the workers were being unprofessional and giving some preferential treatment to some people they personally knew.
This was a few years ago, but a recent servicing issue with my car reminded me to post a review. The issues with the actual servicing I'll have to save for...
Read moreI have been a Tesla owner for over 5 years & have had excellent service except at this location. The location is in an obscure area. Compared to all other Tesla locations, this is the smallest that I’ve seen. The first Tesla employee tried to tell us that it was closed even though the posted business hours stated it was opened for 20 more minutes. Luckily a sales representative came & spent lots of time with me since I was trading my model S in. After I picked up my new Tesla, the disappointment continued. 4 days later I received phone calls every day from a Tesla financial rep’s cell phone telling me that many documents were not signed & I owed money & could I pay with a credit card. This Tesla experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t think I will purchase another Tesla. For such a large company, it was hard to believe that I was treated so unprofessionally. I would not recommend this dealership to my friends or family. My nightmare is not over....it’s been 3 months & I still have several Tesla reps calling me. You would think they would communicate with each other.
It’s been 4 months and the Tesla mess Is still ongoing. Shame on you Tesla for mistreating your customers and blaming them for your mistakes.
40K mistake! Who hires these babies who are making major mistakes in the contracts and what auto company doesn’t double check the financial contracts and then blame the customer for their mistakes.
Buyer Beware!!!!! Run away! Don’t buy from this unprofessional company. There are many more electric cars to...
