Update (11/22/24): I recently visited this restaurant, and everyone was so kind and the food was delicious. I definitely forgive you for the mishap. Thank you for your service. Update (10 months ago): This place only disappointed me once. I had an upset stomach the next day but, otherwise, this place is gold. I always order the California roll and spicy ramen noodle. It’s so good especially when it’s warm. One thing they should look into is actually calling your number once your food is ready. I’ve made mobile orders with my boyfriend on several occasions. They’d ask for our phone number to call when the food is ready and then won’t call. We’d have to go and grab it on a hunch just to have our food and ramen isn’t good when it’s cold. Luckily they don’t have a problem with re-heating. Their lemonade is really good. Update: 01/19/24 I came here with my fiancĂ© last night just an hour before closing and did of take out order of two California sushi rolls, a strawberry lemonade, and spicy beef ramen for $36.35 just for them to not include one of our sushi rolls. They only messed up with us on one other occasion so we didn’t feel the need to check but now that I’m opening our order from last night (we didn’t end up eating all of it, only the ramen and lemonade), I see that we got charged for something that we didn’t receive so I don’t think we will be eating here for a while. Idk if they didn’t include our rolls because we came an hour before closing and they were tired or something but this is a huge disappointment. I even repeated the order to the girl on the phone and she repeated it back to me so I don’t see why this happened. This is such a huge disappointment since me and my fiancĂ© have been coming here for years (since the start of our relationship) and now this place is going straight to down the crapper. We will be getting a refund and not returning.

Coming back here gave me flashbacks as to why I came here regularly when living in the Howard Hughes area. They have amazing Japanese food, friendly service, cozy spaces and just great overall dining experience. When I used to come here, I would always get their ika geso kaarage, but I believe they have been discontinued (bummer đŸ„Č)? Anyhow, I didn't order the Chilean Sea Bass and they are amazing, so give that a try! Well, let's move on to the ones I actually ordered: Curry ramen, chicken fried rice and calamari rings. Curry ramen was delicious, I just wish their noodle can be less soft, so I don't feel like eating soggy noodles. As for their fried rice, they just live up to Japanese fried rice standards (Japanese seem to always make the best fried rice). 👌 Calamari rings? Well, let's just say I prefer their squid legs. As for their fried California rolls, I love every single bite of it. Out of all these that I mentioned, the only one I think you should skip is the calamari rings. Overall, I enjoy the ambience and experience in this restaurant so I would recommend to sushi lovers to try out this restaurant 🍙

Restaurant Review – First Visit in LA It was our first time in LA, and we stumbled upon this spot for a casual Tuesday night dinner. Overall, it was an okay experience. We started with the spicy garlic edamame – decent flavor, but it could’ve used just a touch more salt to bring it to life. I ordered the **pork belly fried rice**, expecting something a bit more flavorful and rich. It wasn’t bad, just a little underwhelming and not quite what I envisioned. Our son tried the chicken teriyaki, but unfortunately, he wasn’t a fan of the sauce—it didn’t have that classic teriyaki flavor we’re used to. The highlight of the night was definitely the kimchi beef yakisoba noodles– packed with flavor and a great balance of spice and savory. That dish really stood out. Overall, not a bad stop for a quick bite, but not sure we’d go out of our way to return. Still, glad we gave it a try.

If I could give this place zero stars I would!

My husband and I took our girlfriend out to dinner on Sunday night. The food, as per usual, was great! However, the service was awful. The waitress working our table made several errors with our order and was rude, among other things.

I had ordered a drink (DON'T ORDER THE MARGARITAS HERE) and it was quite bad. After a few sips I explained to her that I really didn't care for the drink and asked that it be removed from the bill. At the end of the meal, she brought us the wrong bill (the one with the drink still on it) and she brought the two receipts for me to complete and sign (with the drink removed). Obviously the totals didn't match, so we were all confused. We asked for clarification and she brought the corrected receipt back.

The total, after all was said and done was $78.86 (including tax). Being that we were all displeased with the quality of service I only authorized a $7.00 tip, bringing the total to $85.86. Imagine my surprise when I check my bank statement today and I see $95.86 charged by the restaurant!!

Immediately, I called and asked to speak with the manager (Sung). I explained the situation and advised him that I am 100% certain I only authorized a $7.00 tip because I was so displeased with our waitress. He said he would investigate and get back to me. He calls me back 15 minutes later and states that the receipt clearly shows a $17.00 tip and he emails me a picture. I FLIPPED OUT! This woman took it upon herself to add a "1" in front of my "7.00" to give herself a $17.00 tip and she changed my "8" to a "9", in the total cost.

My husband ran restaurants for 17 years, so I know what this means. As a customer, I fully expected the manager to be just as upset as I am, if not more so. His employee committed fraud. Sung, did not even so much as apologize!!! I have been eating at this restaurant for years, and you can believe I will NEVER eat here again. If the manager supports behavior like this, there's no telling what else is going on in that place, or how many customers before me have been ripped off and just never caught it.

If you do eat here, make sure you always double check your bank statements to confirm that the final charge...

Just had an awesome experience in discrimination at Kabuki in the Howard Hughes Center in Los Angeles, CA. My sister and I, who are African American, sat down for lunch at 11:20 am. There were approximately 3 others in the restaurant, 2 at the bar and 1 other gentleman already eating. At 11:32 am, a group of 3 Caucasian women sat down and immediately a server asked for their drinks while NO ONE came to us once. I called the manager over and explained how long we were waiting and how it appeared to look. She indicated that the server was one of the best and apologized. Approximately 11:41 am, the server came back and started to begin taking the order of the other table again. We waited a little bit longer and then left. I have been going to Kabuki for a long time and never experienced this. We went to Island downstairs, which was much more crowded, and put in our order in 3 mins. I went back upstairs to tell the manager how disappointed we were, and she just said sorry about her server. Not once did she attempt to make the situation right but basically let us know she wasn't going to do anything about it.

If I could give negative...
