Great amenities consisting of: one large fitness center and one small fitness center that's more accustomed to zoomba/yoga activities, one large pool with 2 hot tubs and sunbathing chairs (most pools go up to 4 1/2 feet max, sometimes just 4 feet), one medium sized pool with one hot tub, a rooftop pool and an indoor pool more accustomed to swimming practice/training, one full size volleyball court, two full size basketball courts, about 4 rooftop lounges with seats, one arcade (hasn't been open in a while for whatever reason), a variety of vending machines (some don't work at times), about 5 big study lounges and more individual study rooms, and frequent events that usually consist of movies or free food (although the food isn't always the best and long lines are created at times). This is a great place to live although there are some issues such as occasional (i'd say once a year) water and electricity cuts (no water or electricity for a certain schedule for a few days, ex: 10 am - 5 pm from monday to wednesday, these usually don't last too much time anymore though), and you can expect there to be wi-fi issues more occasionally, usually when it's move in season so during the summer, finally an unfortunate thing is that rules aren't particularly enforced well here. For example, there is a sign of clear rules in the bigger fitness center stating multiple things like minors have to be at least 14 and accompanied by an adult to enter although i've once seen an adult enter with 3 kids who looked no older than 8 years old each, which as expected were all playing around and causing a disturbance, security guards do sometimes enter the gym to see everything is fine but not as much as preferred. Another rule included not being able to make lots of noise from things like phones or speakers, yet I've entered the gym at least twice seeing a group of people with a flashy speaker that goes up to my knees that literally has wheels to be dragged around, blasting music at the highest level and it took 2 people complaining for them to check and tell them to stop playing their music, 2 people, it seemed like they try helping when only 1 person complained at first but in the end they said it was "fine." Finally, there are multiple bicycle parking zones that are clearly not patrolled enough nor do the securities do much about the bike theft. I had a bike parked in the most hidden bike zone as I had it parked in the other one previously and it got stolen. Its seat got stolen now. There is a locked door only openable with an apartment key preventing anybody else from entering, although the fences aren't that tall and are pretty easily jumpable. Seats from multiple other bikes were also stolen, and when reported to security guards, the most they say they do is report to the police and that's done. That's not the completely bad part, the thing is, they used to tell us here that bikes were not allowed to be kept outside in our houses' balcony, so we were mandated to have them kept in the bike parkings, just for them to end up getting stolen or robbed from. I have now kept my bike in my balcony as I have a fair argument to tell anyone who makes me do otherwise, but the audacity to mandate us to keep them in the bike parkings, just for them to get robbed, and for them to report to the police but nothing ever usually happening or being said afterwards, is just something I hated having to deal with. They should at least show some more interest in making the bike parking more secure, but they haven't and likely will not. Good amenities, decent apartment,...
Read moreDon't stay here!!!! Even one star is too much for this place! As international students, you may need more resources to find the truth about this place. The YouTube video looks excellent. Everyone who does not live here recommends Lorenzo because they do not know how it is. The people who live here also recommend it because they can get a recommendation bonus of 500 or 1000 USD. The online payment system of Lorenzo needs to work better, which causes the tenant's payment to be delayed. Although the tenant asks the staff to fix the payment system before the due date, they ignore the issue. After the due date, they will charge you the delayed fee of 75 USD. Don't be surprised if cockroaches climb out of your dishwashers! If you file the complaint, the Property director will tell you it is no big deal; he even saw the cockroaches climbing on babies. (But it is not on his baby!) Even the 3000 USD apartments (1B1B) will not guarantee safety here. The cleaning company hired by Lorenzo robbed everything of a tenant, including cash, laptops, high-brand clothes, passports, jewelry, etc. After countless arguments back and forth, the case still needs to be settled. On the crime day, we asked the security to contact the staff of Lorenzo for the emergency. The security lady just told us she could not do that because it was outside the operating hours of the Lorenzo staff. And she refused to give us the contact of the Lorenzo staff because of data protection. So, for Lorenzo, it is OK to provide some cleaning company access to a private apartment without any permission from the tenant. Still, providing the victim with an emergency contact for Lorenzo is not OK. Lorenzo's staff also entered the tenant's room to install equipment without permission. Some tenants confirmed that things had been stolen after an unpermitted installment in the room. Although the tenants filed the complaints, the property director's sophistry is they can enter any tenant's room as long as they inform the tenant via email, which is allowed by California law. But no specific time and date has been specified in the email announcement. (Is this an American juristic system?! Just walking over the helpless international students?!) Since the weeds are allowed in CA, you can smell the weeds even when you close the door and the window. The property director again argued with his sophistry: It is customary in CA. We cannot prevent the students from smoking weed on balconies or in courtyards. Lorenzo leasing managers are not part of the Lorenzo. Don't be fooled by the leasing managers! They are getting paid to seduce into this heil place. Once you sign your lease, you will be trapped here. The Lorenzo staff, property manager, and property director will make you mentally suffer so much that you eventually give up if you want to survive in...
Read moreNEGATIVE STARS - DO NOT MOVE HERE! BAD MANAGEMENT, LACK OF EMPATHY AND RESPECT FOR TENANTS
This was my last resort. I have tried EVERYTHING to resolve this issue with management and got dismissed at every turn.
On our scheduled move-in day, we were made to wait 6 hours and then told they didn't have any one-bedroom apartments available, even though we had a signed lease. They told us to stay in a hotel and promised to cover it. When we arrived the next day, we were made to wait another 2 hours before finally being given an apartment. The unit we received was ground level, with no natural lighting, outdated furniture, and a pest problem (spiders everywhere).
From day one, we told them we were unhappy with the apartment. They said another unit on a higher floor would be available in a few days. When the day came, they told us, "Oh sorry, we gave that apartment to someone else." It has been 14 days since move-in, and we still have not been reimbursed for the hotel. We were promised a gift card for the inconvenience of the move-in day, but despite asking over 6 times, we have received nothing.
Now, we are trying to cancel the lease due to the poor conditions and broken promises, but management is giving us a hard time and delaying the process and wants us to get billed for the 2 weeks of torture staying at Lorenzo.
We told management we want to leave the lease because if they aren't acknowledging our concerns over relatively small issues like this, we can't trust how they would handle a real problem in the future.
They responded with "don't assume we're not going to take future problems seriously because of this," which is RIDICULOUS because what else are we supposed to think?!?
The management is unprofessional, disorganized, and untrustworthy. They make promises they do not keep, fail to communicate properly, and show no accountability for the extremely poor move-in experience.
The only way to get them to take you seriously is by taking legal action, which unfortunately seems like our next step since we are neglected. We have documented everything from the move-in delays, broken promises, and lack of responsiveness.
After reading other reviews, it's clear that Lorenzo Apartments has repeated systemic issues with management, and this level of unprofessionalism should not be tolerated by the the Los Angeles Housing and Community...
