I was a loyal customer of this place until this month.
On 12/7 I got a gel x â every time I go I get whoever is free and I never had a problem with anyone. This time I got someone new just like any other time. I realized when the technician was applying the gel that my nails looked like tiny marbles, they were so round and bulky and technician explained that there are 2 types of nail beds? A flat one and a round one? And she went for the round one â I never knew this and in 3 years of getting gel x I had NEVER been asked if I wanted them flat or bulky, technicians always went for flat I guess. I told her I didnât want them bulky and she apologized and asked if I wanted to proceed with those nails (which I had already said no) or for her to fix them. I asked for the latter. She proceded to just file all nails until they looked flatter and I didnât question this because I trusted she knew what she was doing. I left content in the end because the nails looked just fine given what had happened.
Less than a week later the first nail broke, I called the place to see if they could fix it but no one picked. I eventually figured if it was one nail only I could live with it until I was so for an appointment again in January, especially since I travel far to go to this specific spot. A few days later it was a second nail and then a third. All I knew is that by Christmas 6 of the nails were gone. I tried calling on 12/23 and again, no answer. I finally had the time to go in person today (12/26). I explained the situation to who I assume is the owner and what they did instead was blame me for (1) not calling (which I did) (2) not knowing my technicians name and (3) she said she couldnât help me because it was almost the 3 week mark.
I told her I wasnât looking for a refund, that all I wanted was to get my nails removed for no cost since it was such a poor job. The quality of the job was, needless to say, disappointing and the customer service I was met with when explaining the situation was horrible and rude. On top of my nails being extremely damaged due to the extensions falling off so soon and entire layers of my own nail coming off the with it to which she responded that it was my fault for removing the nail (the nail that was already broken!!!)
I hate that this is how things turned out because I really liked this place but they have lowered their standards so much + their customer service is also extremely rude. So for me itâs a no â $90 for gel x that are falling apart within the week is not...
Read moreMindy rushed through my nails, messed up the shape, made the acrylic too thick, didnât touch up the paint and made my nails crooked, another tech had to come and fix her mistakes. When I kept informing her to fix what I didnât like she kept telling me I will do it at the end. She cut my cuticles dry instead of having me soak my hands now my cuticles are jagged and inflamed and now my nails look ridiculous to the point where I cried at the register. The manager offered $5 and to come back the next day to fix them. After 2 hours of my time, after another tech having to try to layer the spotty gel paint and redo everything I still have to comeback and fix them. I was going out of town the next day for a celebration so that wasnât possible. I instead went to my regular in WEHO called BUTTER NAILS. Go there instead, paying extra for quality is a better idea. I didnât return because Iâm not gonna risk trying to convince these people where theyâre wrong. They tried to have me think crooked nails were straight nails. Thanks for wasting my time and almost ruining a special day. Donât waste your time here or at least with someone...
Read moreIâm in shock at how bad my gel builder manicure was. It was rushed and sloppily done. It looks uneven and splotchy and I left with polish marks all over my hands. At other places it usually takes 90 minutes for removal and application and this place did it in 45 minutes. Hands-down the worst manicure I have ever gotten.
I know itâs stupid to cry over a bad manicure, but this place left me in tears. And for some reason nail polish powder is getting all over my clothes - very weird! Hopefully it washes out!
UPDATE
Six of my nails have peeled less than 12 hours after the manicure and it was still wet underneath. Clearly the technician didnât allow the builder to dry long enough in the UV light and just caked it on with not enough set time in between.
I felt like I was being rushed through a factory line so she could get to the next person. I shouldâve spoken up at the time but I was with a friend and didnât realize how bad it was going to be.
Yes, itâs a cheap place but itâs not a cheap service. I would expect my manicure to last more than 12...
