My husband and I stayed here for a concert on Monday night. The check in was easy, the room was easy to find and we were pleasantly surprised we got a corner room right next to the emergency stairs. The view was fantastic, and I'll include a shot of the sunset in the review. The king bed was VERY comfortable, as were the pillows, and the sheets and blankets were clean and kept us at just the right temperature. The air unit worked just fine and we kept background sounds on the TV overnight to help block out some of the ambient noise from outside. The only small complaint was that the walls were pretty thin and I woke up once at 6:30am when our one neighbor woke up and made some banging sounds in their room. I didn't let that impact my overall rating, though, as I've stayed in much worse hotels where you could literally hear other guests fart. So being woken up just the once is more than fine for me personally. To give some background I clean AirBnbs for a living below Yosemite National Park. I'm intimately aware of how a clean and well staged room should feel and smell and look. This room definitely hit those notes for me. We were 2 blocks away from the concert venue (which meant we were able to walk there and back through the campus) and the paid parking was very convenient. It was worth every cent for the security it afforded us not having to park on the street. The breakfast buffet the next morning was wonderful, too. I especially enjoyed the apple wood smoked bacon and breakfast bites. All the staff we came across were helpful and friendly. The room was well appointed and my husband and I really appreciated all the included amenities (mouthwash, dental care, water bottles, etc.) Honestly the room service we had was the best food we had on our entire trip - I strongly suggest the avocado toast and fries. As a side note I had unexpectedly started my period out of nowhere overnight - after a brief call to the front desk the following morning they sent up 3 sanitary napkins for me totally free of charge. I was really touched at how thoughtful and kind they were to have done so. If ever we are in the area again we will stay here again gladly. Thanks to the staff for such an enjoyable stay!

A pretty solid hotel stay! The windows are a bit thin which allows in a lot of noise but the beds are a little bit on the firm side so that may be an advantage for those that prefer that. The rooms are tastefully decorated and have wear and tear in places such as the bathroom due to the humidity and its paint peeling. I like the headboards too which is pretty plush for one and the pillows are nice and comfy. I also like their selection of TV channels as well! The pool is all right and is very deep at 8 ft! Check in was easy and Loreno was Nice and setting up whatever else was in the room! There's also free Wi-Fi. Overall, this is very reasonably priced as well, its just what a budget hotel needs that gets the job done!

Front desk night staff was unbearable. Nearly wouldn’t let me checkin because I didn’t have a physical card on me for incidentals. Had to go and retrieve one from a friend. Their tech is actually so old that they don’t have Apple Pay or contactless payment.. weird. Incidentals are a deprecated service requirement anyway, doesn’t makes sense. The amount of times I heard “I can’t let you checkin and nothing we can do” made me physically ill. She didn’t know her own system well enough, or didn’t want to, punch in the numbers for my card and would only accept a physical one. The entire night staff was combative and condescending, it was so crazy these people are employed. Extended my stay at the hotel but said I booked the wrong room online and made me checkout next day. Wait for checkin (four hours) until I could go back in. Because I booked the “wrong room”. They told me to Book another king bed. I did that, but didn’t know the “view” would be different and I didn’t book the “campus” view. K Spent an extra $100 on the other room. I would’ve picked a cheaper option. Night staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. The TVs were out for the entire day and all I was told was “use Netflix” I explained that I travel and Netflix updated their service to not allow multiple locations. So if I wanted to login elsewhere I’d need to call or email them to release my home IPs addresses. Front desk man was patronizing and told me “I just did it on my vacation just fine”. Ok cool dude. You have your two locations for Netflix. Enjoy trying it again elsewhere next time. The TVs are locked and ALL THEY HAVE is Netflix. They’re living in the past. After my third tv complaint I was eventually offered a free, very sub par buffet breakfast. Essentially the same thing you find at a best western. They don’t actually have free WiFi. That’s a straight up lie, unless they do and no one there told me. All they do is the the free public, unsecured, WiFi that anyone in a 5 Mile radius can access. The jacuzzi was cold and had more chlorine than water. To point where my skin has now broken out in a rash the following day. I liked the bed. That was it. Shower heads are sub par. You’ll see what I mean. For a highly rated hotel and the price, they really should be updated. Cleaning staff was really nice. But I feel sorry for them having to work under that management and CS staff. They wanted to charge me $70 for an hour late checkout too. The night manager said they check the logs and he could get fired if he waived the fee. Never heard that one before. It was 11PM on a Sunday night. You aren’t going to sell out before Monday at noon. And dear god if you do, you’ll be okay for one extra hour. You had so many issues that night, just honor a customers request. I guess the gym is better than most hotels. But not for the extensive amount of weights and equipment and amenities. It’s just a little better than a majority of hotels. That’s it. Thankfully the morning staff was much nicer and the front desk gave me an hour late checkout and waived the fee. He was nice and smiled wanted to be helpful. He was the hotels only...

TO DO ||||AANAPISI ||- APAHE Conference - pre conference as well || - Alexandra|| - Nirosh|| - Ben||||STEM Workshop Programming||||||I checked in on Thursday, 2/1 and upon arriving to my room I found I did not have a desk. I attempted to call the front desk, only to find out the phone in the room wasn't working. I called the front desk on my cell phone and explained that I needed a room with a desk since I'm there as part of a doctoral program wherein we do have coursework to complete. I was told that not all rooms have desks and that I should have specified that I needed a desk when I made my reservation. I found that odd to have to request something that is part of a normal room set up at most institutions (and the hotel itself has desks in other rooms). I explained that I was not aware of that policy and it were an actual policy, that it needed to be a part of the reservation form. The front office then said that they could not move me to a room with a desk, but would check to see if they could get a desk moved to my room. They would also send a technician up to check on the room phone that did not work. They indicated that they would call me back to let me know. I never received a phone call. On Friday, 2/2 I went down to the front desk to check in on this request. They indicated that they had no record of this, and that "sometimes the people in certain shifts don't leave notes." So, I explained the situation. This time though, I had an added situation. The tv in my room did not have access to Netflix and it kept asking me to restart the system. The front desk rep went with me to my room to check on this. I shared with him the desk concern, and he also said that he'd get one moved to my room and the phone would be replaced. He also indicated that he needed a tech to look at the netflix issue. He left and came back with another gentleman, who said that he didn't know what to do, and that the person who did wouldn't be back until Monday (2/5). I could live without the Netflix, but I felt like I would at least get a desk and working phone. I never heard from them again. I gave up on this, but did want to find the person who helped me on Friday. He was nowhere to be seen all weekend. In all, it wasn't a bad place to lay my head, but I felt that I should not have to pay so much for things that were never addressed. My room rate was $295 a night, plus taxes and parking, which left me with a bill close to $1000 for something I felt wasn't worth...
