Toad Road — Local services in Los Ranchos de Albuquerque

I am local to Albuquerque and recently found this amazing shop, Toad Road! It’s easy to access in a cozy and vibrant neighborhood on 4th Street. Ana helped me find 2 amazing unusual shirts which I love! The variety of textures and designs made me spend 3 different trips here touching, trying, searching - always worth a loooong stop :-) Victoria showed me styles and sizes I was looking for and eventually discovered by my own digging. I stopped by Toad Road this afternoon to do some men's clothes shopping, ready to let the eagle fly as they say. I was greeted by a very friendly proprietor and a shop full of beautiful merchandise. But after speaking with her for a minute or two, it became clear that this was yet another clothing shop in Nob Hill that didn't serve the "larger" population: That is, they just don't have any men's XL or 2X shirts or sweaters or pants sized above 40. I was kind of shocked to discover this and the kind lady who helped me seemed mortified. I know it's a demographics thing in the suburbs, but hey demographics...

Toad Road was a real treat to shop at. Friendly, knowledgeable staff dismantled a mannequin so I could try on a coat, and I never felt pressured to buy—talking with her was like talking to a friend about the pros and cons of the garment. I decided to buy (for less than what it was going for on Amazon, btw) and haven’t regretted it for a second. This is a great local store and I will check there before buying anything online from now on. A really pleasant...
