Breathtaking views of Ohio River looking downstream to Downtown Louisville, Kentucky or upstream to Lewis & Clark Bridge east end crossing. The sounds of wildlife and lapping water are mixed with sounds of boats launching or speeding over the river water and tug boats pushing barges along the river. There's a playground for children and picnic tables and grills for groups to enjoy. Some weekends can be a bit crowded and occasionally cars speed unnecessarily in demonstration of performance. On a weekday morning or afternoon the park can be an inspiring place to sit and enjoy nature and the sounds and sights of the Ohio River at Louisville, Kentucky.

On beautiful evenings, as you can see, or even during the day, Cox's Park is a wonderful park to enjoy with family and friends. Don't take my word for it though, go see for yourself. And as always, stay safe y'all!!!

If you walk to the boat ramp you'll find a hidden concrete pathway that stretches the length of the park down at the water's edge. Nice place to take in a sunset or do a little fishing.

Cox Park offers a serene escape along the river's edge. It's a fantastic spot for a leisurely boat ride, whether you prefer kayaking, canoeing, or paddleboarding. The gentle current and scenic views make for a relaxing experience.

The park also provides ample opportunities for picnics, with plenty of grassy areas and picnic tables. However, the current playground facilities are somewhat limited. Adding more play equipment, especially for younger children, would significantly enhance the park's appeal for families.

While the park's natural beauty and recreational opportunities make it a popular destination, there are a few areas where it could be improved. Increased maintenance of the park's trails and facilities would ensure a more enjoyable experience for visitors. Additionally, expanding the park's hours of operation, especially during the summer months, would allow for more flexibility in planning visits.

Despite these minor drawbacks, Cox Park remains a delightful destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Its tranquil setting, combined with its convenient location and diverse recreational opportunities, make it a must-visit for locals and...

I enjoyed this place like I mention before in a post. I haven't been here since I was a teenager.....many moons ago... Lol I was feeling blue and wanted to rejuvenate and watch the sunset, the Belle of Louisville ride and up and back down the river to my surprise. I wasn't with anyone, but it was beautiful to see older couples present enjoying the days end as I was. I was so relaxed until night fell. I noticed the couples was leaving and I thought it's still beautiful or here as more people began to arrive. Well, needles to say If your not down there for a beautiful view while it's daylight then get out, because once the sunset reality sits in and you realize your no longer in Kansas Dorthy. The night people began to emerge..... Just my opinion; however the park was very clean, and yes I would return with better knowledge on how long to stay it's a nice place...
