Extremely RUDE owner. She is in violation of FEDERAL LAW by telling me my dog was not a service dog and when I produced the document proving she was she pointed to the door and told me to leave!!! I recommend steering clear of this place! Who knows what health standards they follow if they trash disabled people’s rights!

I would like to clarify what actually occurred in this place of business and respond to the management’s in apologetic response. According to federal law management only has the right to ask me if that is a service dog and what service it performs. I know this because a police officer in the St. Matthew’s mall told me after commenting on how polite and agreeable I was volunteering to demonstrate Kiki’s license. She does not have to wear a vest but due to extraordinary circumstances Kiki did not have one on. We had been living in italy and my mother died suddenly and I couldn’t find the vest in the hurry to leave since she had been using it because dogs go everywhere in Europe. The employee said accusatively SHE IS NOT A SERVICE DOG and when I put the proof in front of her face non screaming... I was silent she pointed to the door and told me to get out . She also said I can see why you need a service dog! If this is the way your establishment treats human beings I would like to petition Louisville and all its visitors to STEER CLEAR of this in humane establishment! I always try to support local businesses but this one needs to fail. In my...

Where to start... We saw a hole in the wall looking bbq joint and figured it would be great. Upon walking up the smoker was going and smelled amazing giving what appeared to be a great start to this endeavor.

When we got inside, there were 2 tables total. So we got our order to go. $35 for the all meat platter. All 4 of us got the same thing.

Let me just say, I am not convinced any of this meat was smoked... more like oven baked...

The brisket... it was not a brisket... Chuck roast maybe? Roast beef? I don't know, but it wasn't brisket.

The chicken was probably the best, but not b/c of the smoked flavor it didn't have... it was cubed and seasoned. The seasoning making this the best of the meats.

The ribs? Yuck. Who leaves the membrane on ribs??

The pulled pork was typical pulled pork... minus a smoked flavor.

The sausage was not bad, although I don't do sausage like that often.

The beans were like they took cans of pork and beans and mixed some pulled pork into them. Not good.

The bbq sauce had some fruity taste to it. I am all about sweet and fruity, but something was off in it.

All in all, very dissapointed with...

The only thing I like here is the potato salad, and even then just barely. Who in their right mind decided to call this the best BBQ in Louisville?? Are you kidding me? They charge you way too much for food that is SO bland, and chewy, that they then throw into a styrofoam box and hand to you. I have eaten here 3 times hoping each time that it was just a bad day, but each time I sorely regret ever eating here and I cant finish what I paid for and end up throwing it away. It tastes like cafeteria food. I dont understand it at all. My boyfriend and I were so GD hungry on the way home but we passed this place up and drove farther to another place because that is how gross it is. I wouldnt be so annoyed as to write this review if the sign didnt self proclaim that its the best BBQ in Louisville. If you really think this the best BBQ in Louisville, I feel sorry for you, I can name several that knock this out of the park. Try Momma's mustard, or Mark's feed, hell even Mission is a chain and its outrageously...

I had an extreme desire for barbecue. Since I pass this establishment on a regular basis, I thought that I would stop in and get some barbecue. I was really dissatisfied with the overall experience. First, the prices are à la cart and extremely high. The food was not great. I received a ribs, potato salad, and baked beans. The ribs had a lot of fat on them and did not have barbecue sauce on them. I had to add barbecue sauce. The potato salad had big clumps of potatoes in it, and the taste overall was not satisfying. Finally the baked beans taste like store-bought baked beans mixed with barbecue sauce. I did not eat at all.. I was certainly not satisfied with the overall experience. However, your taste buds may be different, but if you’re looking for true authentic barbecue, then this may not be the place for you. Just my opinion. Hope this helps anyone who has a strong desire for authentic barbecue.

Once we arrived here from Texas (home of The BBQ Brisket Masters) folks round here told us,” Kentucky doesn’t have any good bbq spots,” and we were just driving through the scenic route and had no intention of eating bbq when My wife swung in here and the pit brewing in front while seeing a wheel barrel full of cherry oak had me a bit open to eating here. Once my wife and I ordered a Sandwich plate to share we said to one another,” Well I guess dem folks ain’t come out here,” being a BBQ connoisseur Who’s smoked thousands of #’s of beef, pork, turkey, and chicken I’m thankful when I want Bbq I got somewhere to come. Thank you, Rachel for the superb service and enlightening us who owns the spot and how it has gotten where it’s at and Jackson for telling us how long they’ve been here and what’s good to eat. We shall return Lord willing #riveroadboutdatbbq from fellow Smoke Patnas from Tejas good job!

My husband and I were driving down River Road, not looking for food, really. We happened upon, this little place, that looked inviting. It was. The smell, from the smoker, immediately sucked you in! Next, the staff were beyond courteous. The menu, wasn't readily available to look at, as it was taped at the order counter. The associate stated the reason, is so that way, you have to talk to them. We chose to eat in, and take out, as we didn't know what to have. Chicken tacos, for eat in, and a rack of ribs to go. The chicken tacos, were not your regular "taco." Very large, tender chicken, that had been smoked, seasoned with a tangy sauce, drizzled with a white sauce, all under shredded cabbage, and pickled purple onions. Absolutely, not what we were expecting! The ribs, we haven't engulfed as of yet, still full from the large taco! I'm sure they won't disappoint.
