This park is a great place to take the family. Walking, running, light/slow biking, picnicking, and beach sunbathing/swimming are all possible here. The Heritage Farms restaurant is across the street, open mid-spring to mid-autumn and is a popular stop for ice-cream and fast casual food.
The entire path is paved and usually plowed in winter. Spring and autumn snowfall are typically not plowed.
The park is generally well taken-care-of. Poison ivy and grass is controlled. There is an ant problem so leaving food on the ground is a no go. Me and my family haven't every picked up ticks from here in three years of going.
Wildlife: You may see groundhogs, otters, skunks, herons, robins, finches, hawks. I have never seen a snake here.
The grass and picnic areas have room for improvement, the ants need to be taken care of, and an erosion problem threatens the stability of the walking path...

Read moreWas recently at the Lowell Heritage Park. It was DISGUSTING !!! Exited my car to a condom on the ground , then 8 feet away was a baby diaper. There was trash all over the grass beach and waters edge. I was unable to walk more than 5 feet without avoiding trash. This was a Wednesday morning at 10am . Thought the park would have been cleaned by now. Mind you I live near and walk the park several times a week, but noticed the care had been on a severe downward slide for quite some time !
