I visited Bergey’s Ford to look at one vehicle in particular, (a Certified Pre Owned 2021 Ford Expedition) which I saw on their website. If the vehicle met my expectations, and was within my price range, which I had established beforehand, I was ready to finance most of it and pay the remainder with personal check. I was also hoping that I would be able to trade in my old Chevy (worth basically nothing) and drive away in the Ford.
Upon entering the showroom, I was cheerfully greeted by Martha their receptionist. After a brief chat with her, she directed me to sales representative Derek Cavanaugh. Derek cordially greeted me, I explained my interest in the Expedition and he immediately went and brought it up front to inspect and test drive, with Derek showing me many of the features on the vehicle. Meeting my expectations, we sat down to discuss what it would take to drive it off the lot the same day.
Not once did I ever feel pressured in any way to buy. Once the price was established, Derek proceeded to get everything in place. He gave me a line by line breakdown of every cost involved and took the time to answer any questions I had about any line item. Bergey’s was able to give me $300 for the Chevy, basically scrap metal weight, which was more than I thought I would get, so that became part of the deal as I had brought the title along with me to sign over. Derek then had the finance team go to work and as a result they were able to provide me with financing from a local credit union that was more competitive than the credit union I was planning to use.
While everything was being processed, Derek took the vehicle to fill the tank up with gas. That’s right. A full tank of gas. And then took it across the street for a final detailing.
With all paperwork signed, the vehicle newly registered and properly insured (I was in touch with my insurance company during the processing) I followed Derek to the service area, where my first maintenance service was scheduled. With that done, Derek handed me the keys/fobs to the vehicle, thanked me for my business and off I drove.
Let me note here that from the time I entered the showroom until the time I drove off, about 4 hours had elapsed. The first 45 minutes was spent going over and test driving the vehicle. About 15 minutes was spent reaching an agreement on the cost, with another 15 minutes being spent looking at the cost breakdown and having warranty options explained to me. The remainder of the time was spent by the Bergey’s team prepping the vehicle, verifying my personal check, and getting the financing, registration, and all the paperwork in order for the vehicle.
I don’t think that the work that was done to get me into that Expedition could have been done any faster. I extol Derek and those involved for being able to make this happen. This has been a very very pleasant car buying experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again with Bergey’s Ford if the opportunity ever presented itself.
In closing, Thanks again Derek and all who took part...

We looked around outside and was surprised no one came out to greet us (fine by us, we don’t like the pressure associated with car buying). We went inside and were promptly greeted by the receptionist as all the sales associates had customers at their desks (a good problem for them to have). We got the keys to the Explorer and were told to take it for a drive and that someone would free up shortly. We came back and had the pleasure of working with Olivia, after a brief negotiation and explaining what we were offered for the same vehicle up the street at a different Ford dealer, they matched it and we took our new Explorer ST home. The reason we went to Bergeys was because we didn’t like the pressure the competing dealership put on us, and we’re glad we got to return to Bergey for another purchase. Today, a few months later I took the car in for its first inspection & emissions. I was greeted right away by Mike Shoengold and he took great care of me the whole time. During the buying process we actually didn’t know if we would be back down that way for the free first service but Mike offered it to me and it was a nice surprise. Bergeys is about an hour and 20 minutes from our house but I wouldn’t hesitate to deal with them again for sales or service even though I pass several other Ford dealers along the way!
Drove over an hour and a half to look at a preowned Mustang. Tony greeted is promptly and let us take it out for a test drive. A short time of talking numbers, what we can afford and them taking care of my over mileage leased fusion, we agreed on a price and took our new car home same day. Everyone we talked to was pleasant even though we kept them there after hours while they detailed the car and organized financing! Especially Ty who called himself the lot boy, he took great pride in cleaning up our new car and it showed. We ended up leaving with our new car and feeling comfortable about the deal which is the best feeling you can have leaving a car dealership. Thanks to Bergeys for getting us out of our lease and into...
Read moreNovember 2023. Just has a recall part replaced on my 2012 Fusion. They came to my house and replaced it in my driveway. Called "Mobile Service", Nice tech that came to preform the job. He let me watch and explained everything he was doing. Whole job took about 10 minutes. May 2023. Just finished another state inspections for both of my vehicles: f150 2017 & Fusion 2012.. Some work needed on the Fusion, repairs are getting to the point that I think I need to replace it before the next inspection. The F-150 passed with no issues. The service was excellent. May 2022. I have been going back to Bergey's Ford for my yearly State inspection since I purchased the F-150. and have been very pleased with the work performed there. Additionally, I have been taking the 2012 Fusion there as well even thought the warranty expired as well. Being a mechanic over 65. I even have them do the little things, i.e. oil chance, points inspection, ect.... Prices are fare and quality work is done. Aug 2017. I trust this dealership and all of its' departments. I have done most of my own maintenance and repairs on my vehicles over the years but as I have been getting older, I have been getting more work done by a local auto shop and Bergey's Ford. So starting in 2012 When our daughter needed her first car for her new job, We bought our first Ford, a Fusion 2010, and have been very happy with Bergey's Ford. In 2014, January, the next Ford replaced our 12 year old Family car, a Buick LeSabre 2002. We down sized to a Ford Fusion 2012 and have been very pleased with the car as well as the service department of Bergey's Ford. And finally, When my 17 year old Dodge 1500 Ram 2001 (purchased Aug 2000) Started to need monthly repairs it was time for a new truck. Bergey's Ford had what I wanted on the lot. Yes! I did look elsewhere but Bergey's won my business. Purchased July 2017, a new 2017 Ford F150 XL (base model) with towing package. I will continue to do my own basic maintenance on the vehicles for now but I am very confident in taking my vehicles to Bergey's for major work and maintenance. As for the local auto shop, I will miss them but, vehicles under warranty, I will take to...
