My husband, baby, and I went to Whitewood for a birthday party. I saw on the doors that no outside food or beverage was allowed. Everywhere I have ever gone, including many bowling alleys, this has not included water. As a breastfeeding mom, I always have my water bottle with me in order to stay hydrated, especially when doing a physical activity. My water bottle was in the outside pocket of the diaper, completely visible. I was not told upon entering, or during the half our wait, or even while at the counter paying and getting my shoes that I could not have my water bottle. Once we got to our lane. I pulled out my water bottle and put it on the table that is behind the lanes since I know no drinks are allowed down on the lane. Within minutes an announcement was made that no outside beverages, including water, was allowed. This surprised me but I complied and put my water bottle away. I went to the counter to ask if I could empty my water bottle, show them, and then fill it at the water fountain. I was told I could not because "no outside containers" are allowed. It does not say this anywhere on the doors when entering. I was told I could get water at the grill, which is fine, but the cups are tiny. Being a breastfeeding mom I am drinking around 20 onces at a time. Which meant I would have to continually refill the cup. I find it very frustrating that this was not posted anywhere and that someone couldn't have just come and let us know instead of announcing it (we were the only ones with a water bottle so it was pretty obvious). It's already hard and stressful enough trying to go out with a baby, especially if breastfeeding, and this experience made it even worse. We definitely will choose a different bowling...
Read moreWent with my husband and 3 of our kiddos plus 1 of their friends and our 17 month old grand baby. I wasn’t bowling. My 15 yo bowled first and her band aide flew off her hand onto the lane and wanted to get it off before getting in trouble (kind of like PTSD from the previous visit) and this guy with glasses bowling in the lane next to us yells from the seated area “DON’T WALK ON THE LANE”. Then comes to our seated area and tells her she needs new shoes RUDELY! Then midway into the 2nd round of bowling after patiently waiting for a dinosaur for my granddaughter, our son in law goes up to the guy that was yelling and he’s sitting at a round table (he told us he was a worker) and asked for our dinosaur and he said “I can’t help you I’m not in the clock” So he comes back and sits down. So I go up to the front counter and asked a worker behind the desk (with longer hair) if we can have our dinosaur we had asked for when paying and he to proceeds to say “I CANNOT HELP YOU, I AM NOT CLOCKED IN”! Like wth! This is not the way to run a BUSINESS! Whitewood do BETTER when hiring! Make it an enjoyable place of business whereas the CUSTOMERS WANT TO COME BACK!! I will NEVER come back. Has been the 3rd and last time I come. Thank God we only...
Read moreI just want to say I have enjoyed every experience here until today. The lady running the front was running this place like the navy, which I'm sure is good for the owners but it creates a less than favorable environment for the customers. I was told to put my drinks on the counter which I thought was nice because it is a rule, and she didn't make us put them back in our hot car. But then later I asked for bumpers and she told us it was for only 10 and under and she wouldn't do it because we were older. I thought that was ridiculous because it shouldn't matter and does not matter anywhere else I have bowled in or around Lubbock, this has not been an issue. What if we had a disability? Not all disabilities are visible. I will definitely take my business elsewhere next time I think about bowling just for this instance because it's unfair and rude. The lady at the kitchen was nice though. Please address this!! It's...
