Definitely not a great experience. I’ve eaten at the One Guy restaurant near Texas Tech and they are superb. This one...not so much.
So we winded up calling in an order for a calzone, a pizza, etc at this location because it was a bit closer to home. Was giving an estimate of 40 minutes that my order would take to get ready. We arrived and my food was already sitting there on top of the oven. Took me about 10 minutes to actually pay for my order since they were supposedly busy. As soon as I got home, we started up the family movie and started to eat. Our food was already cold and wasn’t exactly what I ordered. We also found out that while we were waiting 40 minutes for our order to get cooked it was actually done within 5 minutes and sat there until we arrived at the quoted time. We tried to eat it but couldn’t. So why interrupt our movie time when we can just call right after.
So after the movie was over, I called the restaurant. Explained that my order was cold and wasn’t really up to the expectation. I was told that I could come back in the morning and talk to the restaurant manager and get a refund and they apologized for the inconvenience. I asked if I needed to bring the food back and they told me not to worry about it so I instead threw the food away.
So I come in person to talk to the head manager. Told him my situation, he listened, then he became rude. With comments “why’d you wait 2 hours to call us? We could have fixed it”. Seriously? You act like I called the next day, I called that same night and I was told that I would get a refund. Pretty much told me I was trying to scam for free food and that their food was perfect. Told me to call back during the week to talk to the “store owner” because it’s out of his hands but whenever I called he was never in.
Long story short, if you want a family oriented restaurant where you can spend $50 on mediocre service, cold food and get called a liar when you complain. Then One Guy on 50th...
Read moreHere's a new review. I have driven pizza delivery for 10+ yrs now, I'm not unreasonable. Ordered food about 6:30 Told 45-1hr wait time 7:47 food still not here. Call store, 1st girl said oh it'll be about a 2 hr wait. I ask to speak to a manager. She passes me to someone named Ashley. I asked if she was the manager, she said yes. Explained how they were hit with 10 deliveries at once tho all orders are with drivers and there's no way to know which one. Told me if my food wasn't here in 10 min to call her back. I went out to smoke n left my phone inside, when I was heading back to get it, it was 15 min and the driver was calling. So he shows up(8:10). He was protective ensuring our food wasn't wet as it just started pouring. Gets to us and no soda. He said he would go get the drink n brb. 8:45 rolls around, still no soda. I call back to talk to the manager Ashley n she was no where to be found, the employee who answered said she might be on a smoke break when Ashley jumped on the phone. I'm reminding her who I was when she said hold on. Then a man got on the phone. He asked what I needed n I said nothing, I was waiting for Ashley who put me on hold. He said she handed the phone to him. I said well u might wanna ask her then cuz the manager Ashley was who I needed to talk to. He said he was the manager Steven. She is not. We get into a little debate because he thinks I'm asking someone to risk their life for a drink or food. .. ummmm no. All I ask is common courtesy and respect...if it won't be on time, give a cust a call n say there's been a delay. The manager Steven says the driver was on the way back with the soda. Well here its now 11:40pm n we never got our soda, an apology from Ashley lying about what position she is in the company, the driver for lying saying he'd come back, the driver for never coming back nor Steven lying saying the driver...
Read moreI stopped by One Guy from Italy on a recommendation from a friend during a cross country road trip, and it was WORTH IT. I didn't order ahead, just walked up to order to-go. I had a pretty simple pizza, cheese with black olives.
The to-go service was friendly, polite, and all employees were wearing masks. It didn't take too long waiting inside for my to-go order, and they have benches you can sit on. I felt pretty safe for most of the time inside.
I will say that the wait staff didn't really adhere to social distancing specifically with customers. When I was in one area of the restaurant waiting for my order, a couple of waitresses chose to stand very close to me to gossip about whatever was going on during their shift. I ended up moving and it is a big enough space that it wasn't an issue. Most dine-in customers were not wearing masks.
I took the pizza to-go, and it was DELICIOUS! Their crust has the perfect amount of crispiness on the outside, with a chewy inside. My only mistake was not ordering something a little more exciting, I'm sure it would have been delicious! Everything tasted really fresh, and overall I thought it was awesome. I will make a point to end up in Lubbock again someday just to visit this...
