Overall it was a very pleasant stay. Some key points:
Noise level- it was a very quiet hotel; I thought that perhaps maybe the hotel was empty, although the parking lot seemed full and the breakfast area was busy. I heard minimal noise from outside the room (I was at a room near the elevators, so presumably people were going by), and no noise from adjoining rooms. I guess it is possible that I was just lucky with who were in the neighboring rooms, but it does seem like noise is controlled better here than other hotels. Also, although the hotel is close to the airport and it seems like airplanes are flying 20 feet above the roof, I didn't find airplane noise to be intrusive. Cleanliness- no concerns here; bathroom and the rest of the room was very clean. Sheets, couch, and chair had clean upholstery and did not have any stains or other flaws. Carpet was clean and free of stains/damage. Common areas, including hallways and stairs, were clean. Staff was friendly; I didn't have much interaction with staff, but all were personable. My room was cleaned daily along with new towels. Breakfast was surprisingly good. Decent selection of items, reasonably quality if the food offered, and all items were kept stocked, even when breakfast hours were almost over (i.e. hot food was still coming out 10 minutes before the end of breakfast hours). Things that could be improved- the elevator was ridiculously slow. It took forever to go up to 3rd floor. I ended up using the stairs, which were typical concrete fire escape style stairs instead of carpeted. Not really a big deal, but it is an area to improve upon. No other complaints. Location was also decent. Very good access to highway and airport. There is not much in the immediate area (there was a Subway across the street, but no other places to get food), but with the highway across the street everything was...
Read moreThe hotel was beautiful, the rooms were very nice, and the breakfast was great. The night manager checking in at 4 PM was also super helpful and nice. I am a GOLD member and we get free late 2:00 PM check out. The night manager man was very nice and stated yes we can have the late check out of 2:PM and I saw him write notes in the computer. I was attending a concert and would be back after 1 AM and needed the extra rest before my long drive home. The next day at 11:00 AM housekeeping bangs on my door and attempts to open my room door. I called the front desk and the lady said I am P** Off GD no one told me you were checking out LATE! And it's not 2 PM, it's 1 PM! The lady on the phone CUSSED AT ME! I said Ok, no problem to the 1 PM checkout and went back to sleep. At 12:00 PM the housekeeping banged on my door again and attempted to open my door a 2nd time!! So much for a late checkout and getting sleep before my long drive home. My three daughters said mom can we just go? They are freaking us out! At the check-out desk, the older lady said to me OH I THOUGHT YOU CHECKED OUT HOURS AGO!! Really lady? I spoke to you at 11 AM on the phone. She proceeded to bad-mouth the night manager who she says does this all the time and does not communicate to them about late checkouts. I felt Bullied out of my room! We are sleeping and have people opening our door not once but TWICE! Banging on the door not once but TWICE! and then asked why we didn't leave HOURS AGO. No apologies or anything from this lady at the front desk, just rudeness, and excuses. It ruined our day, our trip, and defeated the purpose of getting a room for the night since we couldn't sleep in! I have contacted the...
Read moreWe arrived after 5 and two people at the desk, one on mobile device and one we had to say hello to get attention. My wife has the name on the IHG and I was checking in and they said that i we not the correct name on the account - I showed the card that was on file was my name and they checked me in (wife still in car).
We had 4 adults and selected this site due to the fold out bed (not comfortable) and no extra blankets or pillows in room, called down and they told us that they did not have anyone that could bring it to us, and we needed to go down. Same two people and one still on personal device. I asked why they did that in room with fold out, he indicated that he has recommended this in past and management did not care.
Next morning we went to front desk and asked for a water bottle (most IHG will do no questions asked, and we stay at them quite a bunch) Front desk employee states they don't do that, I mentioned that we were silver (last year it reset and have not got to gold yet) and they indicated, that well, they do it for gold and we are not gold. Not friendly.
Hotel is maintained, little dirty and could use a good scrub, the vent in the bathroom was extremely gross, and being on top floor it was loud, considered the fan for whole floor on top of roof and we were close, but pretty loud, nevertheless.
Daughter used the guest restroom on the first floor and out of toilet paper, no extra rolls and quite a bit of a dilemma. Told front desk and they did get someone to bring it there, checked next visit down elevator.
Front desk staff little snappy and rude, facilities decent. Little overpriced, but Tampa during graduation at college, economics plays a role with...
