So, we've gone there over about five years. Like many things it's different after the pandemic. The drink specials are gone. House wine was fine-my lovely bride got the Merlot and it was very drinkable, however it was a very short pour for $8 so not a great bargain. The wife got the salmon and chicken. She reports that the salmon was good. I thought the chicken was a little if not a lot over cooked-but the sauce does kind of fix that. Everyone's concerned about salmonella :-). Skipping the noodles was a good call and they were very good about doubling the rice or, for me, giving straight veggies to help me out with my keto. So very happy with that. I will say that the ginger dressing and yummy yummy / goody goody sauces were very sugary-much, more so than I remember.
The atmosphere was a little bit of an odd mix of Christmas and a witch riding a broom. We'll call it eclectic and move on. The only truly disappointing part of the evening was the filet. I got the chicken and filet and the filet was very tough, stringy and full of gristle. Maybe just a bad piece of meat or maybe cost control, I would never know unless we went back. Believe it or not, the stand out of the night was the Miso soup. There was actually onions and mushrooms and the broth was flavorful. A pleasant surprise!
The location is convenient off of the veterans expressway. The parking lot is ample and well-lit so good for the family and or individual diners.
It used to be a solid four and a half stars and now probably is three-and-a-half. We'll give it one more try before we make a decision and head back to the corporate option-Kobe. I would much prefer to keep my money local if...
Read moreThe food was delicious. Just so you know, they stop serving by Hibachi ( cooking infront of you....with fire, and tricks....) by 10:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday night. The owners, especially the male is very kind, and goes out of his way to please the customers. All the servers and hostess perform with courtesy and respect. But, chef was very nice, and he did his best, but he was an old man, he was forgetful, so we had to repeat what we wanted a great deal, with a language barrier, & he was slow and limited with his cooking and tricks. I feel bad to even write about him. But, bless his heart, he was a very nice man, he did his best, and we still appreciate him, and gave him a very good tip. They do a nice birthday song and sing with some little drums, and give ice cream desert if it's your birthday. Everything was great. They're customer service oriented. Clean bathroom. We came with a good, old friend visiting with us from N Y. We loved the interior design, and interior decorating in this restaurant. You have to check out this place. They have a large bar too. We don't drink any alcohol, but they have lots of specials with food and with alcoholic beverages on certain days & hours for those who do like to drink. Overall, we were satisfied, and we will return to this...
Read moreHave arrived during daylight. The outside does not look presentable in any way. At the entrance now, there is a hand written open and close schedule. Once inside, the smell of the antiqueness. Sort of like a grandmas home. We were sat down immediately at our arrival at 2:50. No warm towels for us. We ordered, our two waters which tasted like sink water and one coke with extra water. We began to feel anxious because of all the bad reviews and begin inspecting our table. Under the spoon, a puddle of soy sauce. My wife, without a fork asks the waitress for one. The waitress goes to the table behind us to grab one and immediately hands it to her. Boom. Instant regret as there is a hard flake stuck to it and it is sticky, the whole spoon. Cool, set it down and eat with the chopsticks she does not know how to use, oh well no big deal. Got some Edemame as an appetizer came out way too quick, might of needed like another 5 minutes to not be as hard as they were. No salt also. The side of fried rice and chicken fried rice, were good. So were the Crazy Friday and Six Flags. Simple ones. The waitress/host was more than kind and friendly. Was not the worst but was...
