Hofmann Tower was constructed in 1908 by brewer George Hofmann, Jr. (1855-1942), as the centerpiece of an extensive recreational and entertainment complex.
It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. Today, the tower itself is closed, but the surrounding area has been developed into a well-manicured river walk.

Read moreI visit here on occasion and love bringing my 5yr old and telling him this is a "Castle" with a princess on top (thank you Shrek, lol) he buys into it and lets his imagination go wild. The river is right behind it so only enhances the experience. We see people fish here from time to time. There's also a fountain near the front that you can toss your coin in and make a wish along with benches throughout the walking path.
