Veterans Park — Attraction in Palos Township

We've been going here every year for the 4th July fireworks. They make it better and better each year. It was crowded as usual, but we got there early and got our usual nice spot at the top of the hill. Nice festive atmosphere. The band was excellent this year with really decent rock music and a great lead singer. (Wish I knew the name of the band). They had lots of vendors in the park selling pizza, burgers, tacos, ice-cream, cotton candy, etc... Lots of big bouncies for the young kids. And the fireworks were excellent - went on for a long time this year. They were set off from the quarry this year. And since we were right at the top of the hill, we had the best...

Great little park that is geared towards bringing the community and families together. They offer a gazebo, a small covered picnic area, 2 baseball fields, children's playground and a baseball court. Well i just recently moved into Lyons and this is my second time visiting the park while the band is playing. I cant seem to get enough of it. I love the whole gathering of people there. Beautiful nights and great music like tonight really make me appreciate the great Town of Lyons a lot more everyday. Its a great place to live in. Friendly people, a great mayor and a all around...
