This place is very nice but for younger children only. It really sucks that you have these teenagers rough housing in the pool and do not let the little ones or us parents that have to swim with them enjoy our time. I hope this changes for next summer because it's not cheap when you have to pay $20 each time you go.
(Updated Review 8/24/24) I wanted to share a very unpleasant time we had on this day. The pool area was disgusting, full of dead animals, branches, leaves, lots of hair strands, the water even seemed to have a greasy film.I noticed that the filters in the bottom of the pool were covered with leaves. I also noticed the owner/manager guy told a young man who's employed there to clean the pool with the pole/ net, while we were in the pool! So, we decided to get out of his way so he can do his job and well he was afraid to go in the water and just seemed like he was cold and he just picked up one leaf with his pool stick and ran out. He didn't even clean anything, I couldn't believe what I just witnessed. I pay $ 167 for a season pass of 3 people and everyone else also pays for their admission as well, it's not a public pool where it's free like Chicago has. Even then the free pools in Chicago are at least clean! So, why do paying customers get such poor conditions?! I honestly think I should take my money elsewhere next year. I'm not bringing my little one to a place where we can't even enjoy everything. Also, don't even dare say one word to the life guards like "Good morning," ect because they totally ignore you. Going back to the pool conditions again, it wasn't even filled up with water, even after a few hours the pool or the slide area never got filled up to the indicated measurements with water. Everyone just seemed to be hanging out at the sprinkler area because of the condition of the main pool. Also, it seemed like they didn't have enough life guards to open up the lazy river so yeah great day (sarcasm.) After a few hours of just walking around and just being in the sprinkler area mainly, we left. So, I was going to complain but I decided to give it another chance. I was planning to come back the next day Sunday 8/25/24. I returned on Sunday morning at 10 a.m. I was in line along with the other families when the owner/manager guy from yesterday, comes up to us all to make an announcement that they will not be opening the pool because there was a customer who complained, (he didn't indicate the reason of the complaint,) but that the customer was so unhappy that they threatened to "shoot up the place!" So, of course we had to leave. Another terrible day to add to the books, we just couldn't catch a break once more. I mean we appreciated that he told us the truth of the closure ,also grateful no one got hurt, not worth it. Since, then I have been trying to get more information on this incident because I wanted to make sure it's safe or what they are doing regarding this threat. I have been calling the main pool number but I know they are not there right now, and also the forest preserve number and could never get a hold of any employee only voicemails and they are all too full to leave a message. I'm still going to attempt to complain about the pool conditions and the threat of violence. I hope they take our complaints seriously because we don't have many options in our residing areas, but I'm sure other people along with myself will end up taking their business elsewhere. I have read other reviews where people share a lot of the same concerns I do. Everyone who's employed here just seems so miserable and obviously they don't care about the conditions, there's a lot of laziness it seems. If things don't change they are really asking for a lawsuit. Thanks for reading! God...
Read moreYesterday we had a party booked for my 2 year old. When we arrived they told us that the party was cancelled, somebody was supposed to call us and tell us the day before but they never did. The reason the party was cancelled was because the tent that goes over the tables we reserved was broken from the storm the night before. There wasn't even water on the ground and it was very obvious that this wasn't true at all. They offered to reschedule our party but besides that they said there was nothing they could do. Here I am with all of our guests, a toy story cake, balloons, a very excited 2 year old because all of his favorite things are there and we're supposed to reschedule to another day? We're supposed to break his little heart because they can't fix/replace a very cheap tent. We told them that we didn't need the tent and all we needed was the tables to set up the cake and balloons, but they said no. I asked to speak to a manager, their manager wasn't there but they were able to call him on the phone and the manager refused to speak to me. They gave me a phone number to call him and it was a random Google voice phone number, it's not even his phone number. The management here is horrible and needs to be replaced. Let me run it. I'll make this place awesome. We ended up having to cancel the party and I just paid for all of our guests to come inside. This place is a ton of fun but the management is horrible. I haven't even gotten a refund for my party and I'm sure the bosses here have no idea how horrible this place is run. My party wasn't the only one cancelled, we were just there first because we picked the early time slot. Other kids parties arrived after us that had this same...
Read moreI used to love going here until 2014... went again to let my 5 year old experience it like my 10 year old did and there were about 10 kids total at the facility. It was a very slow day and all you hear are whistles blowing and lifeguards asking over and over again WHERES YOUR PARENT??? 8 and under has to have a parent with them in the lazy river however kids float much fast than adults and my 5 year old then went out of my sight and they don’t let you hold on to each other to stay close... makes sense right but I can be actually watching my kid from the lawn chair and the lifeguards are yelling WHERES YOUR PARENT?? I’m right here!! Watching her and watching you scream at my kid!! Seriously what a joke!!! This is the ONLY establishment I have ever been to that makes you go IN THE WATER with your kids... it’s two feet deep come on!! I have to be IN THE WATER that is 24” deep and my 5 year knows how to swim! Oh and my 10 year old had her head under water in the shallow pool and the lifeguard yelled at her that her head was under water to long... this was not in the lazy river too!! I’d rather spend more money to not have constant yelling and whistle blowing!! I can’t imagine what it’s like when it’s busy with this staff running the show!! It’s probably just a straight whistle...
