I've been here with my dog a few times over the past few years. It's a good playground for dogs with plenty of room to run and play. For dogs that enjoy water, there's a shallow stream that runs down the middle of the park. There's some agility equipment here, as well. My dog is getting older, so I probably won't bring her back after our last experience. As we were leaving, an aggressive dog approached my dog and ended up biting her. The park rules indicate that dogs behaving aggressively should leave, but the person and their dog were still there when I left. Also, there are bags available to clean up dog waste, but it seems that there are several that can't be bothered. This would be a much more pleasant place to visit if everyone would...

I'm usually the only black guy at this park. I have the smallest pit bull you probably have ever seen. Today I went in and everyone in the park avoided me and my dog. She was not allowed to play with anyone for no reason. So after I showed up almost everyone left and I overheard people saying things like "those kinds of dogs shouldn't be allowed here". But anyways, a few minutes later a white man came with 2 pit bulls that were way bigger than mine. Nobody in the park avoided him, left, or prevented their dog from playing with his. I would just like to inform others of my experience in case you are considering visiting this dog park with dogs people label as "aggressive" with little to no...

While I am glad that there is a dog park in Macon and it isn't the worst one I've ever seen, there is lots of room for improvement. On the large dog side, you will find owners that bring their dog and proceed to nap in a bench. This means that they not only aren't picking up their dog's waste but they also are not aware if their dog gets in a scuffle or is causing problems. You also have the owners who bring dogs who have no business being in the park. Then there are the owners who keep their dog on a leash inside the park area which, of course, is incredibly stupid. Are you seeing a trend? Finally, the small dog area has very little shade and no access to water. We live two blocks away and...

My sweet boy loves the park & enjoys running & swimming in the water! It’s a nice park. My only complaint is that we had a smaller dog try to nip/bite my dog in the neck & its owner wasn’t watching. I wish more owners would actively watch their dog/dogs & actually pay attention vs letting them just run free. We will continue to come back & hopefully our sweet boy doesn’t get hurt, just sucks we have to walk around & make sure our dog is safe, instead of sitting down & being able to just watch. A lot of the time people won’t leave if the dog misbehaves & tries to be mean to others. My main thing is owners need to watch their animals or not be allowed in the park.

I love this park! This is a very spacious 3-piece fenced area that includes a small trickling river that runs thru the length of the largest fenced area, 2 bridges that cross that river, about 10 park benches positioned under big shade trees to rest on and a small covered gazebo as well. There's also a manual water pump for washing your pup off after play, or just filling the water bucket. There is another fenced section that has an obstacle course for "show dogs", and a 3rd fenced area that has 1 bench and 2 trees, specifically for animals that need to be secluded, I'm guessing. My dog loves it here and we've only been once!!
