I LOVE this park. It's two blocks from my house. It where a weekly farmers' market is held. It's where we go to hear world-class musicians at the free, Central Park Sessions, that are held throughout the summer. And it's the home of La Fête de Marquette, a free, four-day celebration of music and community in early-mid July. And more!
A drawback is the lack of shade. When the park was formed a few years ago, trees were planted along the edge of the park that would have provided shade... but those have died from neglect. So bring your sunscreen, hat and parasol...
Read moreIt's a great park and they have a farmer's market there on Tuesdays which is wonderful I recommend checking it out. There's a skatepark and a dig that. They also have a nice path walking path through the park and bathrooms. This park holds some festivals which are all good fun which may be why they don't really have many trees or other types of bushes or plants or anything which is why it's 4 stars not five. This park has great sun and some patches of native flowers would be beautiful and great for pollinators...
Read moreAmazing skate park located along the easternmost part of the park. Going west, there is a city block long open area with trees along the perimeter used for concerts during the summer. This is a great place to toss a frisbee or play bocce. Next city block west contains walking paths and rolling hills; excellent picnicing opportunities. Public bathroom on site with a unique architecture featuring a sod roof. Farmer's market 4-7 tuesday evenings...
