3RD/FINAL EDIT: The GM Zach was persistent in trying to explain what happened and apologize. He also offered to comp food and give reward points. He acknowledged that his staff was correct in their answers in the moment, but there was opportunities missed, and a pattern non accommodation. He provided his personal contact for any further stays if I was to choose to stay again. I cannot say I will, but I am at least considering it now. I am not mad as much as I was disappointed. I am switching the over all to 5/5 because Zach did what needed to be done to go above and beyond. I have over 15 years of hospitality experience and I try to be understanding and have a long fuse, but once lit … ORIGINAL EDITED: I was here traveling for Epic training. The booking went very smoothly. When I arrived the shuttle was prompt and the driver was great. After that the stay began to go down hill. The room was on the first floor next to the drive though and smokers station. So the room was bright and loud. There is a black out curtain, but it leaves a gap to let the 24/7 lights around the smokers station in. There was no ice machine on my floor, so if I wanted ice I would have to go to another floor and wander until I found the ice machine quite far from my room. I was told when I checked in that the hotel was sold out. I made my reservation for 9 days, several months ago so I was surprised that I was placed in that room. I did not report any grievances because I knew there were no rooms. That is on me. Often I do not complain until it is too late. Giving all chances for a better experience to negate the previous one. It just was not happening. Saturday after a long day at the farmers market and one of the best massages of my life, I ordered room service from the restaurant totaling more than $50 for a $19 hamburger, cheese curds, a salad , and a Coke Zero. The food was cold and the fries were cold and soggy. The attendant forgot the Coke Zero and took the receipt. After going to the lobby to get the receipt did not make sense as the food subtotal was $56, but the total was $72. There is fine print on back of the menu about the fee, the fee was not the issue, the issue was that it was not on the receipt. I then had to go to the lobby again and they said there was a room service fee and that it was on the receipt. I said it was not on the receipt and they said it was. I had to physically show them that it was not for them to believe me. Room service is usually meant for the customer to not have to leave the room. I had to go to the lobby twice to reconcile the multiple errors. I tried again on Sunday to get breakfast from room service and they informed me they were not able to accommodate because they were too busy, and that I could come in and eat. This hotel was chosen because of the good reviews, and excellent location. The location is excellent, however the experience was not a great one for me. The staff was pleasant and responsive, but the response was always “no”. There was always a reason an advertised amenity was not available. If it was coincidence, it was a lot of coincidence all at one time. Almost all opportunities for superior serves...
Read moreWe love the Indigo chain regardless where we are. Mostly because of its great pet friendly policy and the fact that you have a Nespresso coffee machine in each room (model differ by room type). It is always clean and welcoming. We stayed in the Madison area over New Year's for our hike at Devil's Lake. The hotel was converted from an old paint factory so you can see the original structure mixed with the new. The one bedroom suite that we stayed in was great, it has two large TVs in the living area and the bedroom. You can flip your devices to the TVs and watch your own movies and shows, but they are older models. The amenities are complete and in perfect working conditions including the mini fridge. The wet bar was a good plus. Courteous and knowledgeable front desk. Parking is next door, in and out privileges. But you can save all that money by just parking in the street behind the hotel, it is free and quite safe. But it is first come first serve. The breakfast at the hotel was just ok. The food offering was mediocre at best and quite pricey. But if you are an early bird and don't want to venture out, this might be your only choice. The only complaint that I have is the bathroom, while it is large and has dual showerheads in the oversize shower, there are no windows, the dark color theme and hardware makes the bathroom very depressing without any natural lights. There is also no vent in there either, so it has a muggy smell. Overall, a very good hotel...
Read moreI'm not built for the high class life, but you can definitely expect quality service. The staff is trained to a high level of service which they do a great job of, I just find it off putting like I'm speaking to a robot. That said, the cleanliness and design of the room was fantastic. The lobby was communal with games and seats to hang out. I liked that I could use my phone as a TV remote, but you have to go to the lobby to use a microwave. They don't have free breakfast although there is a restaurant that serves it. I can't afford that, but if you're willing to pay $200/night for a hotel then maybe you'd enjoy that. I only stayed here because it was my free night with the IHG Premier card. The location is right across the street from historic Breese Steven's Field(shout out the Madison Radicals)! The walkability is great, there was literally people playing volleyball nearby and a bunch of cyclists using the path nearby. You can see a hint of the water from just a block away, and you can walk to the capitol in about 20-30 minutes which is great because Madison's bus system is quite bad although there was construction work on rapid bus I believe. There's a shuttle service that will take you within 3 miles from the hotel; however, you may have to schedule in advance unless you're willing to just go with everyone else wherever they're going which is likely the airport or downtown. The gym is on floor LL and has mostly cardio machines with free weights...
