Turn back while you still can, read my rant. I'm a second year bio student and I'm looking for a way out. Almost all teachers and administrators have zero interested in education and 100% interest in their paychecks, especially in the Chem/Bio department, my God. I can get better counseling from any one of the families of squirrels on campus. What's all this new hype you say? New upcoming schedule changes conveniently make us come to class five days a week instead of an even more conveniently possible two days a week. Who needs a job anyway, right? I'm so thankful my parents can just shell out this cash and pay for my education. Oh wait, they can't. That's not a problem, I have a really great job with a promising raise in the upcoming future that relates to my major. Thankfully I can work.. - oh wait I can't? Time constraints. It's not like half of the school's undergraduates consist of commuters (who cares about them, they don't pay an extra 10k for dorming). Damn this new schedule, it's ok I can just get a job from the conveniently opened positions on campus. Let me just find one that fits my schedule so I can be here 6 maybe even 7 days a week! Hey Ramapo, you're not going to change into a dorming campus. It won't happen, stop trying. Who needs a life anyway, this college is the best place to be. Is it bad that I'd consider going massively in debt in student loans to leave this place? I feel like I'm Greg House with this condescending sarcastic tone. I like it. Let's point out more of this colleges beautiful features. I like to call this one the classical "renovation sonata". It's this really nice bonus track that happens when construction/renovations were supposed to be finished a year ago but wasn't. It consists of multiple jackhammers, drills, and the smell of concrete when heading to ASB (music with a scent feature! impressive for Ramapo's standards, is this the 6th sense people talk about?). It can really put a baby to sleep, iTunes has it rated 5* already, Spotify in the near future. There's also the cafeteria which is pretty nice, no sarcasm here. The dining hall(s) are pretty nice. The food is nothing to glamour about, it's what you got in high school. Oh god that reminds me, the chicken patties. If you know, you know. There's also this really cool thing called "feedback" that we give, but the administrators seem to misplace the papers. Blame Stacy down in reception, I heard even she's adjunct. The library is also pretty nice, no sarcasm here either. My only gripe is that there aren't enough places to accommodate for the late final studiers. Parking. You'll be working a sweat by the time you reach the stairs in the main building. I like to convince myself I don't need to workout after the mile walk from the parking lot to the lab, but I feel like it's a ploy by Ramapo to stop me from using their gym. That stuff don't fly by me buddy. GREEK LIFE WOOO. ZBT, 3 TRIANGLES, AOE, ZQG, WTF, really though, it's ramapo, who cares? Half the people aren't even there past 5pm. Pay for your friends but once you stop, uh oh! Bye bye! You get a $1,000 shirt though with 3 symbols on it, that's nice I guess. You want a real college experience and people you can call your family? Join a bowling league, actually don't. Also, I'm in a frat and it sucks. Did I join the wrong one? Maybe. There's tons of stuff here that will make you cringe in disgust (like most colleges), and like that other guy below me said, it just gets swept under the rug. I wonder how long this review stays here.
So do yourself a favor, go to rutgers, tcnj, rowan, bcc, or literally any other school before considering this. I saved myself a lot of money by coming here but the stress and constant uphill climb with faculty is just too much. I have to teach myself Every. Night. I pay attention to every word the professors say, go for extra help, do everything by the books, just to get a passing grade. It's pathetic.

Read moreI graduated but can’t go to graduation 2021. I am trying to recover from transferring to this college. I was harassed by staff, emotionally abused, discriminated against & threatened. Once I made awareness I thought it was safe to stay. I was wrong and I was told I was in danger this past November 2020. My last undergraduate class I will ever take on the last day December 18, 2020 I was not allowed to give my presentation. I transferred in with multiple degrees and reached the life time limit of 600% for undergraduate loans. I reached out to my advisor and was blocked for writing about the abuse I endured. Throughout my last year at Ramapo I was harassed off campus which lead to order of protection. I thought this was a good college and I thought I would gain a career. But the staff who harassed me told me nobody cared about me, my story, and I will never get a job or get any references. It’s heartbreaking and the college doesn’t care about the students future at all. I thought this was a beautiful place it has all the amenities and location. But that’s all extrinsic when you look inside it’s a very toxic culture. If there is one bad Professor and all the rest know it, then they are all bad Professors. This college destroys the good ones very miserable people here. Save yourself from the broken heart go anywhere else. The best and the brightest will always be targeted. I feared for my personal safety when walking on campus. I fear that if the toxic culture and staff made the wrong person mad that we were all completely compromised. The college put locks on the inside of the door to my classroom but that didn’t make me feel safer at all. At that point I was auditing a course I was not enrolled. I dropped that semester after being harassed behind closed doors. I felt trapped there and was told I couldn’t transfer out as nobody would take the credits and I would have lost $10,000. The student is not valued here you are just a number. If you a transfer here you are screwed as you will only meet half the program. I dealt with a trio of toxic women it’s unacceptable. “Every time we turn our heads the other way when we see the law flouted, when we tolerate what we know to be wrong, when we close our eyes and ears to the corrupt because we are too busy or too frightened, when we fail to speak up and speak out, we strike a blow against freedom and decency and justice.”-...
Read moreThough my time as a student at Ramapo College of New Jersey came to an end in December of 2009, I often find myself reflecting on the solid education and overall experience I had. Ramapo College, located in Mahwah, NJ, offers breathtaking views and gives off a pleasant community atmosphere. I can recall sitting in finance class in autumn, looking out at the changing colors of the trees. It was a surreal view that accompanied instruction and education.
If you are looking for a college with a homey feel, top-notch facilities, and most importantly, a great educational experience, then this is the college to attend.
I’ve had the good fortune of not only living on campus, but earning a BS in Marketing from Anisfield School of Business. With a modern feel and an elegant look, the school is aesthetically pleasing. Most recently, Anisfield School of Business received AACSB (The Association of Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation for its business program, an achievement that only 6% of schools with undergraduate programs achieve. While studying at RCNJ, much was taught to me by the friendly, well-qualified professors of the business school. More specifically, the core marketing classes that I completed have equipped my mind to think of business in a different light and have been a great, positive influence.
RCNJ has the distinct advantage of being a liberal arts school. What does this mean? Well, classroom sizes max out at around 35 students. This gives a more personable opportunity for learning and promotes a closer relationship with the professors. I valued this and gained a lot more interaction in the classroom setting as opposed to being “lost in the sauce” at a lecture hall that holds 300 students at a typical university school. Ramapo College has many bright years ahead of itself, continuing to usher in technological innovation, a focus on sustainability and most importantly a caring for the welfare of...
