[Pros:] Prices for some things are low, probably produce more than anything else. You'll probably save money if you manage to convince yourself that it's worth the headache.
[Cons:]
â˘Quality- most of the stuff here is close to expiration. Raspberries, blueberries, strawberries are almost always moldy when I see them. Other fruits and vegetables are usually soft and don't seem fresh. Boxed items on sale and other sale items are always really close to expiration (check the dates of you don't believe me)
â˘Employees- this is not something I enjoy saying, but employees seem disrespectful. It's almost like they dislike customers. The guys stocking shelves behave strangely.
â˘Layout- the store needs to be restructured at the very least to take advantage of the limited space that they have. It is very difficult to maneuver a cart through the store or even just your body without a cart. This place is a claustrophobics nightmare. Customers part carts everywhere while they navigate the produce section because there is insufficient space to shop.
â˘Checkout- you'll definitely wait a little to even get to the register and the belts are shorter and leaner than average I think.
â˘Parking- very tight spots, not enough spots. There is a good chance that a car or cart can hit your car when you come here. Pedestrians are in danger of getting hit too because of parking lot traffic and negligent drivers.
â˘Carts- old enough that they look as if they survived through some natural disaster. I saw one today with a wheel bent at 45°
[Final thoughts]
-I feel like my blood pressure rises every time I come here. I don't feel welcome in the store; employees usually won't smile or say hello (with the exception of the cashiers maybe). It's overcrowded (I've been hit with carts before). Employees are constantly stocking, and they'll make you feel like your existence is inconvenient to them.
Come try to see the excitement for yourself. If you want the full immersive experience, show up on Saturday or Sunday and you'll think you're in the last grocery store on earth while the...
Read moreI know Jerry's is a popular market, but they should train their associates properly with manners. I went to the shop today (10/5/2024), but there was a lady who was putting items in the cashier, she was extremely rude. She puts every items in one bag (I bought cabbage, onions, carrots and other heavy items etc.), did not evenly distributed the items. It feels like she puts my items in the bag like garbage. She even puts egg and cabbage together, and other bags were like onions, apples all in same bag and handle of the bag was almost about to rip off. I had bad experiences with Jerryâs previously where they put all things together ended up bag got ripped off even before I arrived at my house. I asked the lady nicely for 2 extra bags, and she said no. So I said to the lady that she put too much heavy stuffs all at once, and her reply was ânoâ and gave only one bag. I think her English was not so fluent, but since I need the bag, I got extra bag from other cashier, but that rude lady came up to me and took the bag away from me without saying anything, and it was extremely ridiculous and I felt very disrespected and discriminated. I donât want many bags, all I want is to have at least even distribution so that way my stuffs stays in the bag safely, and does not fall off due to the broken bag before I arrive at my house. I get this place is busy, but show some courtesy. It was very...
Read moreI had an extremely frustrating experience with Jerry's Fruit today. Two days ago, I purchased a durian for $29.93, which is already quite a hefty price for a fruit. Unfortunately, when we opened it, we discovered that it was not only waterlogged but also rotten. The stench was overpowering, and the fruit was utterly inedible.
We kept the fruit frozen, and I had intended to return the durian yesterday, but due to a demanding work schedule, I was unable to do so until today. I drove 30 minutes to the store to address the issue, hoping for a resolution. However, when I spoke with the manager and an employee named Jesusâwhose shirt identified him as "Said"âhe refused to provide his full name, which was very odd. The manager's response was shockingly unhelpful. He was not only rude but also displayed a high level of unprofessionalism and poor communication skills. He dismissed my concerns outright and insisted that nothing could be done about the spoiled fruit.
I spend hundreds to thousands of dollars on food from this store. This level of customer service is utterly unacceptable. I will certainly never purchase durian from Jerry's Fruit again, and I strongly advise others to reconsider before buying durian...
