I cannot make this up! I went into there to only buy 1 product- the Lady in a Cup tea. I found the product easily. There was no price but I would still likely buy it anyway to give it a try. I went to cash register. No long lines which was great. While I was waiting in line I decided to check the price of it on Amazon so I scanned the bar code. It's my turn and I hand the lady the box of tea. I ask her the cost and she tells me 2.79$. Ok great! It was 27$ for a multipack on Amazon. As I'm entering my pin I see the lady throw the bagged product towards the end of the register. In disbelief I questioned if I saw that correctly. And I did. She proceeded to talk to a bagger behind me in her language with a scrunched up face. I took the box of tea out of the plastic bag, crumpled it up, and threw it back in the same way the cashier threw it. The bagger and the cashier continue to talk about me and make fun of me in their language. After I threw the bag, the bagger picked up the bag, crumpled it up and threw it as well. She was basically mimicking me. As the cashier handed me the receipt, I ripped it out of her hand and left the store. As I left the store I realized that I should contribute to a business with rude people so I retuned with the product to return it. As I went back into the store I could see the bagger watching me. She basically followed me out of the store. When I went back to the cash register area she looked at me and said, "return?" As of she already knew what I wanted to do. She took me to a register to process the return. I continuously asked her the manager and their name. But i got the feeling that she was pretending not to understand me. But I continued to ask anyway. And I let her know how rude the lady was to me. She said the manager's name was Yone. I hope she gave me the correct info. I'll be going back tomorrow morning to speak with them.
Why was I treated that way? I go into a business to buy and I'm being treated like garbage. That is not okay and I will not let that slide. Super 88 needs to train their employees on how to treat...
Read moreMuch improved over what it was ten years ago when it smelled like a Chinatown alley and was almost as dirty.. I'll even occasionally but meat there now. Mainly useful for spices, sauces, oils and other basics for Asian cooking.
Some have reported vegetables and fruits not fresh, but I haven't had any problem. But don't treat it like a regular supermarket where you can just assume everything is fine. You've got to pick stuff over. Same goes for the fish. If you know how to buy fish you should be ok.
Seems to cater to a variety of immigrant, not just Asians, which is a plus as far as variety is concerned. They also carry cheap but practical Asian housewares. It's a good place to pick up a bamboo steamer or a teapot, or some basic pots and pans for a student apartment.
Not the best Asian supermarket in Boston, but serviceable and easily the best overal choice in the immediate area if you want to cook Asian. I seldom make the drive over to Burlington because my neighborhood Asian market is usually...

My boyfriend and I went grocery shopping on 12/22/17, the seasoning was on sale, so we bought two different kinds of seasoning. I checked another one which would expire in January 2018, I thought this one would have similar date so we just checked out without checking date carefully.
On 1/8/2018, my boyfriend made hot pot with this expired seasoning and ended up being sick. So he checked the package. The front of the package shows it was produced on 11/8/2016. On the back, it says this seasoning expire after one year of production date, which will be 11/7/2017. It has been expired for about 45 days when we bought it.
The fact that the market sells expired food really piss me off. And we usually don’t check production date before checking out. We won’t realize this seasoning is expired if my boyfriend didn’t get sick. I’m not saying you should not go to this market, but you really have to be careful, and always...
