I just now left the store and I cannot begin to describe the rudeness that I encountered by the two saleswomen at the store. As my longtime jeweler has finally retired, my husband and I were looking for another in the area. I recently noticed one of the prongs on my diamond eternity band seemed "off" and I took it in for a professional opinion. I was immediately reprimanded -- within the first 60 seconds of being in the store-- for not getting the diamonds checked every six months. I received the ring a year ago as a present for the birth of my son -- alas, I have been a little busy. I responded "Well I'm here now." The ring was then looked over for a few minutes -- the only minutes of the entire visit that we're professional and courteous. And as a young professional whose social circle is just now beginning to get engaged, married, and have children, I'll pass along my experience with...

Leslie was fantastic to work with, professional and dependable and kind - patient as well while timing delivery to me once I was back in the US. Jessie was additionally top notch. I remember her - classy. For years, our every jewelry repair or purchase was done at Mertens. (Mr. Mertenās immaculate dogs would always be there and sometimes sat on a chair, so the first thing you would see upon entering was the face of one of his gorgeous, sweet dogs behind the counter. Loved that.) Mertens is the absolute best jeweler. Theyāve been in beautiful Manasquan, NJ on Main St. since something like 1946. Thank...
