Iâve consigned approximately 50 quality items over the past few monthsâmany from brands like J.Crew, Anthropologie, Lucky Brand, and Paige Denim, just to name a few. Several pieces new with tags. Unfortunately, the experience has been extremely disappointing.
The staff is consistently unwelcoming. When dropping off items, they barely acknowledge you, quickly sort through everything without a word, and return what theyâre not taking without so much as an explanation. The entire process feels impersonal and dismissive.
There is no itemized list or any documentation of what was accepted or whatâs been sold. Youâre left completely in the dark. Iâve only seen a few of my items on the floor, and thereâs no way to verify if items are being properly credited to my account. The lack of transparency makes the whole system feel questionable, if not outright shady.
Had they provided a list of what was accepted and when it was placed on the floor, there would at least be some accountability. But as it stands, you have no idea whatâs happening with your inventory.
The only positive I can mention is that their pricing seems fair and designed to sell. Unfortunately, that alone doesnât make up for such poor customer service and nonexistent record-keeping. Iâll never bring anything back there and cannot recommend this store...
Read moreI had an absolutely fantastic time shopping in here on a rainy Saturday. The quality of the experience here was similar to when I first started thrifting and used to be able to more easily source gems without an influx of resellers cleaning out the best inventory first. I love that it's split into the women's store, men's store and children's, as I was able to find a bunch of gems in the women's store before moving on to also grabbing an amazing vintage Harley vest from the men's shop. I took a quick browse through the Free People rack before going to check out the vintage (which admittedly was disappointingly skewed toward just items for older women from the late 90s/00's, but I'm sure if I visit more regularly I'll see more inventory get added). I'm so glad I went back to the FP section as I found four pieces that were in brand new condition, including one with the FP tags still attached - and not one of them was more than $30 a piece, a huge steal. We also found Frye harness boots for my mom for less than $70. Staff was friendly and attentive. My only ask would be to try to get more consigned vintage in as that just adds to the fun (and also post more about new arrivals on...
Read moreBeautiful Selection, Unfortunately Rude Service I really want to like this store since I live nearby and this store got really famous due to tiktok. Squan Dry Goods has a genuinely nice and well-curated selection of clothing. However, the consistently unwelcoming and cold attitude of the staff makes for a very unpleasant shopping experience. This was my second time visiting, hoping my first impression was just an off day, but the service was just as poor.
Today, I found an item I was interested in and politely asked the cashier what the "last price" was. Her response was condescending and frankly, rude. She replied, "You mean the best price? Oh, this item just came in, so this is the best price." Her tone made it feel like I had insulted her by simply asking a question that is very common in a consignment store setting.
A simple, polite "The price is firm on this one" would have been perfectly acceptable. Instead, I was made to feel unwelcome. It's a shame, because the clothes are great, but customer service is just as important. Because of the staff's attitude, this will be...
