Hush Hair Salon — Attraction in Manhattan Beach

I started coming to see Richelle back in February and she promised me that we would get my hair the blonde shade that I wanted after a few appointments. I agreed but my color still looked the same and by the 3rd appointment, she had turned part of my roots orange. I called the salon 4 times asking to speak to the owner to try and resolve this issue but I was ignored. Richelle knew I was calling and she called me on her private cell phone number and offered to fix the issue but it was still not fixed after I went back in. After spending over $1100, my color was still not what I asked for. I had to pay $600 for a color correction with a different stylist. I decided to ask for money back for the last appointment where she turned my hair orange but she refused and told me to stop contacting her on her private phone even though I paid her via Venmo to her personal account and not to the salon plus she is independent from the salon. One of the owners of the salon finally called me and after a few discussions, she told me that the salon and Richelle didn’t have any money to refund me. After I threatened to write this review, the owner agreed to pay me $355 (the cost of the last appointment) out of her own pocket as a "favor" to me. That never happened and all she has done is ignore my texts. This salon has some great stylists but the ownership doesn't seem to care and I've never recovered part of my money that was promised back to me by the owner. I went into Hush for my first time, with kind of a hair disaster… the salon I went to previously wasn’t able to achieve the level of blonde I was going for and also had my money pieces looking a bit thicker than I had wanted. Roy stepped up and assured me we’d get the look I was going for, natural-looking dirty blonde. I was skeptical we’d get to exactly what I wanted, but Roy went above and beyond my expectations. He took on someone else’s mistake and completely transformed my hair. He’s incredibly knowledgeable about his craft and makes you feel so comfortable while he’s doing his thing. I kept checking in with him like, “hey just to confirm, this is what I want dadada” and he didn’t get frustrated after I said the same thing for the 15th time, he assured me each time that we were on the right track. While visiting family in Manhattan Beach from NJ I walked past the Salon a number of times. Having a particularly bad hair day and wanting a change the day before Thanksgiving I walked in on a whim to see if by any chance there might be an opening for a cut on that day or during the week I was in town. As luck would have it one of the stylists, Corey, had just had a cancellation and took me right in. I wanted a change and felt comfortable with the time she took to talk to me and look at my current style discuss options. I took a shot and let Corey work her magic. She cut at least 4 or 5 inches off and gave me a wonderful style. I could not be happier.
