If I could give 0 stars I would. The manager and employees are incredibly disrespectful and rude. My childrenâs daycare has shopped Aldiâs in Manhattan for over 10+ years. Aldiâs has probably gotten more of our money than anyone else as the daycare shops there, our providers shop for their home there and we shop there for ourselves. Today they were in the store doing their normal WEEKLY shopping. They go to the checkout and the guy at the register tells them that theyâre not allowed to buy 3 cartons of eggs. Our provider explained to him that they have a daycare exemption through the state of Kansas. The guy at the register was rude and completely dismissed them. Tried telling them that it wasnât true and Aldis doesnât recognize that. Our provider requested to talk to a certain person because they have been doing business with that specific manager for years. The guy proceeded to tell them that âthat person has never worked hereâ and that âthereâs only 4 staff members total and theyâre all at the store todayâ. So youâre telling me only 4 people work at that entire store? No. đ Our provider asked to speak to the manager because they have the state exemption paperwork. The woman came out and already had an attitude with our provider. Our providers are hands down the kindest people that we have ever met in our lives. We know them personally and through business. The âmanagerâ was even more disrespectful and rude. Laughed in their faces when they were trying to explain the situation. She made several comments about how she felt like they were âthreateningâ her. 𤣠She interrupted them several times, was less help than anything. She even had the nerve to say that she didnât think theyâve ever shopped at Aldiâs because a state exemption âdoesnât existâ. All this over a daycare wanting to buy 3 cartons of eggs? Aldiâs needs to do better. My first suggestion is to get rid of that âmanagerâ. Iâve been a manager of establishments for SEVERAL years and I would never in my life talk to a customer that way. (Especially one spending $200-$400+ per visit). Train your staff because it is obvious that they canât handle an issue without escalating the situation. And 4 employees for that entire business? đł Iâm sure thatâs not accurate and if it is those 4 are probably extremely overworked and...
Read moreI was elated when I returned to Manhattan to find an Aldi's! While this store is smaller, it is well-stocked. It is Manhattan's most under-rated grocery store.
Most people come here for lower prices, the Aldi's trademark. When Aldi's first hit the market over 40 years ago, they were killing traditional grocery chains with their efficiency & low prices on name- brand goods.
The old chains fought back by attacking Aldi's reputation and worse. They demanded the large food production conglomerates stop selling to Aldi's. Sadly, producers complied. Aldi's eventually rebounded by sourcing from smaller companies. Their supplier quality has improved over the past 35 years.
Why shop Aldi's??? NO ONE beats their prices & quality on milk, eggs, mushrooms & cheese. Their snacks are of equal or better quality than name brands & even many Kroger brands. Try their corn chips!
The 16 inch pizzas are better than those at Dillons or Hi-vee so long -as you get thick crusts, not thin.
One of the BEST things abt Aldi is their unique selection of household, home & garden products that vary widely from week to week. I got baskets of superior quality at 1/3 the price you pay at...
