Went in on 3-14-24 for our daughter's birthday. We got there kinda late. It was 8:20 p.m., and they close at 9pm, so we knew we were pushing it a little bit. We waited about ten minutes for someone to seat us, mind you there's ten in our party, the guy informed us they closed in 30 minutes and we would not have enough time to eat. So needless to say, I will never drive 20 minutes after working 12 hours to ever give hu hot in Manhattan my money again. Well, let's be honest we will not be going back to Hu Hot in Manhattan. Mind you, we are a family of 7 and eat there four or five times a year at around $225 a trip with appetizers and drinks. There are too many local restaurants that won't turn us away!! On top of tonight the last few times I have been there I have asked to cooks to keep my food on the grill a little while longer and they look at me like I was speaking a language from another planet, and never could get my food cooked longer.
Update I emailed in response to huhots response to my review. They gave me two free grill meals, so I thought, what the heck? I will try it again. Went in when it was not real busy with two of my daughters. We were not turned this time. But going through the food, the noodles were frozen in the pan, which made it difficult to get them out without taking the whole pan. When I got to grill again I said loud and clear "please cook it longer" the cook smiled and shook his head, guess what it was not cooked longer and I could tell he had no idea what I said or could not hear me, I don't talk softly, I didn't see if he had ear buds in. Honestly, I was about to leave at this point. Got back to the table, and my first bite was cold. Half of my food was cold. The other half was warm.. Our waiter was ok, not overactive but very friendly. He brought me the ticket and told him I had two free meals on my reward card, so he went back and took one meal off, so I explained that I had two free meals again, and he took two off the second time. He never asked me how our food was or how our experience was. At this point, I was just ready to leave, so I didn't bring up...
Read moreHere Is A Funny Thing:I lost my bracelet in Huhot tonight. One customer found it and gave it to one waitress.I feel lucky I get it back, so, I paid that customer's dinner to show my thanks! It is not a big deal for me compared with my precious bracelet. However, when I calm down and think this whole thing carefully, I found something very funny/crazy. It only took me 1-2 mins(pretty sure) to realize my bracelet was missing after I lost it. That customer was the guy who was standing behind me in the food court area.He was just looking me searching around so nervously in front of him. He picked up the bracket and hold it,and did not even ask if I was finding something.Since I did not find the bracelet inside of Huhot,I went outside and checked if I lost it in my car.I spend about 5 mins in the car. Finally, I felt I had to talk with the manager of HuHot. Before I went to the manager and asked if I could see the camera, that customer seems like to chose to keep my bracelet for himself. And that customer may be observing me all the time till he saw me talking with manager. So, he knew it was the time to give the bracelet to the waitress. The manager and waitress's ambiguous attitudes told me they knew the truth or at least part of the truth. And they just do not want me to make this thing bigger. The most funny part is the manager offered me a free meal after I paid that customer's meal??I hope I do not trust the wrong persons(manager and waitress). What do you guys think? This thing makes me confused. Any way, I still feel thankful to the good persons and even to the...
Read moreBumped down to a 3 from a 4 this year due to management not working with customers on special requests. I'm a huge fan of fish, but unfortunately, at this location, they do not keep the fish frozen on the line. They fill up the container, and it just sits there and thaws out. Why is that an issue? The fish disintegrates on that hot grill when it's not frozen, so you are left with pieces smaller than the garlic they have in the garlic oil... not very appetizing in my personal opinion nor how fish should be served. Why is it that it is the only meat that isn't frozen on the line? Every other meat option is ALWAYS frozen. My suggestion is to put less fish out. They restock the line constantly anyway, so it would probably be less waste at the end of the day and would be a better, frozen option for those who do want fish. Yes, I've requested to have frozen fish from the waitstaff at my table multiple times and every single time, I get some random excuse as to why I can't - from it isn't cut up yet, they just can't give it to me that way or, my favorite reason thus far was a manager telling me the thawed fish on the line met temperature standards so it's safe to eat... that was not the reason nor part of the explanation I provided you on why i wanted it frozen, buddy.. I am extremely disappointed in this locations response to that request as every other location I've been to, has had no issues either providing it upon request or their fish on the line is frozen, as...
