Can't believe so many people say that the staff was friendly/helpful/nice. We encountered the most unprofessional, rude staff who treated us very poorly. We were not expecting much from this hotel. We simply wanted a clean place to rest & get some sleep. This place was the halfway point on a long road trip for my wife & I. This place was so filthy & discusting. Homeless people having a parking lot party. Dried vomit on the floors in the hallways. Flies swarming all over the place, dead flies inside the "clean" folded towels. Dirty sheets on bed. When asked for clean accommodations, we were told "this ain't the Hilton". My wife is disabled & travels with 2 service dogs. Her first service dog is old & can't do it for much longer, we have the new service dog in training to take his place. He is allowed to go places with her while in training. We have all the proper documentation for them. Since we were refused clean accommodations, I said I would leave & asked for a refund. The lady (who claimed to be the GM) said, "you have 2 pets you didn't pay for". I told her that they were service dogs & I did inform the young man who checked us in, who said no problem. She said, "do you have a letter for them?" I told her that we did, even though it is illegal for her to ask for it. She didn't even wait for me to show her the documentation anyway. She just went in and charged another $50 to my card, after i had already told her we would not be staying. We were refused a refund & receipt & they threatened us as we were leaving as well. I called corporate for Wydham hotels. They were difficult to deal with, but have finally said they were going to send me a check for me refund. That night we left & went to Best Western down the street which WAS very clean & very friendly/helpful staff who went above & beyond to make us feel better after our bad experience at this Super 8. Not only will we never stay at this Super 8, but we will never stay in another Wyndham...
Read moreLook, there are a lot of bad reviews out there, and a lot of them either seem fake or like people had unrealistic expectations.||Sadly, that’s not the case here. We’ve stayed in this hotel many times, but never will again.||I won’t even bother with all the cosmetic issues that would be simple to correct. Suffice to say, there are many.||If you choose to stay here, don’t expect working locks. These doors do appear to lock, but they don’t unlock. Be prepared to spend 5-10 minutes fiddling with them every time you need to get back into the room. If you’re in a hurry to get to the game, beware- it may make you late, as it did us.||If you choose to stay here, don’t trust the refrigerator. Our thermostat was turned to the warmest setting and it was warmer inside the fridge than in the room. I made the mistake of assuming that turning it down would correct this. Nope, when we opened it up the next day, we found warm beer and spoiled food.||If you choose to stay here, don’t expect coffee. Of four coffee packets in the room, all were decaf. No problem, I went to breakfast. But there was no coffee there either. No problem, I went to the front desk. I was told they’d make more in 5-10 minutes. After 30 minutes of waiting, they provided no coffee, no apology, and no attempt to correct the issue. I had to go to the coffee shop next door.||But I’ve saved the best (worst) for last. My son left a shirt in the room. We tried calling to see if they’d found it, but apparently their phone is either off the hook or doesn’t work. We drove back to Manhattan, and he explained the situation to the clerk, who was sitting outside smoking. The entirety of her response, without looking up from her phone: “if it was here, it’s probably gone.” That’s it.||I had 3 future reservations, all of which I canceled. We won’t be going back. ||If you choose to stay here, I sincerely hope you have a better time than we did, because no one should have the...
Read moreFront desk hardly looked up from his phone to greet. Any problem we had was not handled attentively.
Had a difficult time with keys immediately. Went downstairs straight away and before I could say anything "Keys not working?" And a new set was given almost immediately, which seemed weird. The new keys were finicky but we did manage to get in. Had to get a new set subsequently almost every time we left.
There was supposed to be a note for extra towels in our room upon arrival. There was a weird singular towel folded on the floor next to the tub. No clue if that was meant to be our "extra towels" or just sloppy. There was someone's mexican takeout bag in the room. We went to plug in the microwave for food we brought and discovered a rotting onion sitting behind the mini fridge.
Had to get new keys when at one point a different person was at the desk and asked if I kept them in the same pocket as my phone (no), or had one of those metal or scannable wallets (also no). Finally he got up and came to our room, condescending smile which wiped from his face when he also tried our keys and discovered they didnt work. Then he tried to claim that every time you leave your room the key knows, and assumes you'll only leave once per day or so per night of stay. I know this is a blatant lie- it's just a magnetized strip. It has no tech to track how many times I've left. Thats not how key cards work.
Went to use the tub, discovered that the diverter/internal plug doesn't work. On further inspection saw black and red mold around the bath mat which was PEELING UP to reveal further spots of DISGUSTING molding spots and noticeably smelled when lifted mildly for view.
Came down for breakfast morning of check out to hear who I believe is the manager loudly badmouthing her employees to another employee. Absolutely DO NOT STAY HERE! Risk the higher cost elsewhere to be treated with respect...
