This is a wonderful childrenās museum, especially for small kids. It stands out from other childrenās museums because it is not overly loud. There are many play stations that allow children to use their imagination. It does have a large tree fort/climbing gym, but it has less of a focus on large motor playground type activities. Themes are well thought out and I was impressed by the thoughtful themes that tie in content about the local economy. Plenty of opportunities for kids to use their imagination. My 21 month old son had an absolute blast and didnāt want to leave after 2 hours or play.
Overall environment is bright with a lot of natural light and the primarily single floor open concept design allows the museum to be accessible to people with limited mobility. Lighting was also not excessively bright or reflecting which is helpful for people with low vision or that struggle with glare. Environment was also comfortable for adults to be involved in play. Structures allowed adult size ppl to climb on them. There is a nice place in the front of the museum to sit at the table and have a snack. Parking was easy.
Only environmental things that I didnāt see was a family bathroom or nursing lounge. I think a family bathroom should be a priority to increase accessibility for those who require assistance or more bathroom privacy, parents toileting multiple kids or older opposite gender kids, and those with unique gender identity needs. Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat place for the kiddos to learn and have fun! Snack bar has really good coffee for the parents too! They didn't get 5 stars because while I visited here a parent misplaced one of their children and couldn't find him for quite some time. The staff wasn't communicating with other staff that the child was missing! There was more parents including me that were looking. I ended up finding the child safe playing out of site. But it felt like an eternity that we couldn't find him. Idk maybe stamp everyone's hand with the group they come in with and not let them leave unless everyone's together. Just an idea because seeing the mothers face when she couldn't find her child was heartbreaking!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place was atrociousā¦. There was more parental supervision on the island of the lost boys. Parents were rude. Letting kids run a total muck. Nothing was even close to maintained and organized ⦠there was two kids who actually told us their parents left them there and were oddly following us around. And no one we told seemed to care. Like. This was a normal thing⦠for 60 dollars this was a total rip off and seemed like a place where kids could easily be picked off without a trace. Not to mention. The lady at the front desk literally scared my kids and had the personality of a moldy potatoā¦ā¦. 10/10 would not recommend and will never NEVER be returning...
