Mankato Mattress Man — Attraction in Mankato

Justin didn't give us the typical sales pitch shtick you find elsewhere. He wasn't constantly hovering next to us while we were trying out mattresses, he gave us plenty of space and privacy after he suggested which mattresses to start trying out. His approach made a lot of sense and he found us a mattress based on what we found to be the most comfortable and not necessarily based on what we thought we were looking for when we walked in the door.

He really is just like he is in his commercials, honest, knowledgeable and he keeps his prices low. Even if you think you have already decided on the perfect mattress elsewhere I would urge you to at least stop by and check out what Justin has to offer. We were thinking we had already made a decision on a mattress we had found elsewhere but decided to stop by just to see what Justin had to offer even though we didn't recognize any of the brands he sells. We weren't sure exactly what to expect but we found that his mattresses come with an equal or better warranty than what we found elsewhere and we left realizing that he had what we were looking for at nearly a third of the cost of what we were about to spend elsewhere. Very poor customer service and professionalism. Went in to purchase a bed, and left after less than 10 minutes. We were the only customers in the store, and the owner didn't even get up, greet us, or ask what we were looking for. After we initiated conversation about why we need a new bed due to our current one being too soft, he strongly criticized our previous bed choice (which was a reccomended choice from Consumer Reports), still didn't get up, and only pointed at one bed. We looked at other beds by ourselves, and then decided to leave due to not getting any asistance in choosing a new bed. On the way out, I offered feedback for future customers and said that we were leaving due to the above reasons, to which he responded in a very unprofessional manner and disrespectful tone of voice and said he knew we weren't going to buy a bed, which was untrue. GREAT store manager! He greeted us when we entered, but in the pursuit of a new mattress no one wants an annoying person breathing down their neck. We just wanted to be left alone to imagine what it will be like to sleep on this mattress for many days' worth of years into the future. He just let us lie on as many mattresses as we wanted until we were ready to purchase one. He then showed us the features of our new mattress, and not once did he try to convince us to buy something supposedly better and certainly more expensive than what we had decided to purchase. And believe me—they have a range of price options and comfort levels. The mattress and accompanying box spring could have been delivered that same day, but we couldn't be home until a few days later and he said he would make that work for HIS schedule.
