We were visiting a friend here in Cincinnati from our home in Louisville Kentucky when we asked for suggestions on where to eat, and the very first name she said was "Mac's." She went on and on about the Fried Pickles with Ranch dressing, and also mentioned that they have vegan and gluten free options for her and her family. And she said that the staff there is REALLY nice. It was a lazy Saturday afternoon, so the place wasn't crowded like it would be on a Friday or Saturday night. It has a family-owned sports bar feel as you walk in the door with black trim on dark red walls and large screen TVs where they could fit in the walls. The Bose sound system also sounded great playing country music at a perfect level - loud enough to be heard and sung with, yet quiet enough to enjoy conversation. We were greeted by the owner and told to grab a table anywhere and so we did. At our friend's suggestion, we ordered the fried pickles, esp after our server told us how they get whole pickles in a 5 gallon pale, take them out and hand slice them, dip them in homemade batter and deep fry them. They were every bit as delicious as it sounded. Then we had the Chicago Gyro pizza which had a Garlic Parmesan base, which was the perfect departure from traditional pizza with tomato or marinara sauce. It was delicious. We can't wait to visit again when we're back...
Read moreWe showed up to this place at 10pm on a Saturday night, they were open until 11pm. The owner was VERY DRUNK. He told us we could come in and have a drink, but food wasn’t an option. We asked him if he could make an exception and give us some “devil’s breath” wings since we heard they were very hot and we were excited to try them. He told us to come in and he would give us some. Once we got in, my fiancé had to use the restroom. We talked to some people at the bar and they were very nice and even offered to buy us drinks. The owner came out of the kitchen with a cup of the sauce and said “You three, to the door; now”. (My fiancé was our 4th and she was still in the restroom). When we told him we needed to wait on my fiancé, he started to get belligerent and cuss us out, which really confused us because he just invited us in. This situation escalated until my fiancé got out of the restroom and we were able to leave the area. As we left, the drunk owner took pictures of our car on our way out. I have never had an experience like this before and I would be very cautious taking your family to a...
Read moreOrdered online at Wooster location. Chose curbside pickup because I had a baby with me. Order medium chicken bacon ranch pizza, Childs quesadilla, and a soda. I am visiting from out of state, so was not familiar with the place. When I arrived I couldn’t find any signs for curbside pickup so I called to ask where I pick up. I was told they don’t do that even though she was aware it was an option on the website. She told me I had to come to the bar to pick it up. No apology just direction. I parked my car half way down the parking lot. Got the baby out of the car and went in to get my order. They gave me the pizza and quesadilla. I had to tell them I also ordered a soda but didn’t want it because I couldn’t carry it all with the baby. I was expecting curbside delivery. All I got from her was an oops. After getting home I realized that the toppings on my pizza were burnt. So in summary. I paid over $30 for a burnt pizza, a child’s quesadilla,, a soda which I didn’t get, and 15% tip (because I thought they were going to bring my food to my car). And...
