This is a terrible company, mismanaged in every way. We paid a handsome fee for a fully transferable bond when we purchased our home 7 years ago. We endured 7 years of terrible service (both pest and termite), techs were late or simply didn't show up, payments were regularly allocated against the wrong accounts (we would get nasty letters threatening to cancel our service when in fact we had paid, they had just applied the termite bill against the pest bill or vice-versa) and generally bad customer service anytime we called. We stuck with the company only because we had the bond and didn't want to have to purchase another one at a different company upon switching. Flash forward to present day where we are in the process of selling our home and we're told that the bond is no longer transferable. They gave no explanation as to how/why they will no longer honor the contract, simply stating that we will no longer bond your type of home, even though nothing has changed in the state of our house since the bond was issued. This leaves us no option but to move on to another company and in the process of shopping around we've heard the same refrain "Cook's is giving the entire industry a bad name" both from industry insiders as well as fellow customers. We've found that there are good termite companies out there, Cooks is not one of them. Stay away!
Edit: Google the names of some of the positive reviews, I've found at least one of them that is a cooks employee and another talking about a chupacabra infestation. Nice work guys, your customers aren't helping your rating so you try to inflate it yourselves. Maybe spend more time on your customers and less time trying to...
Read moreThis company seriously lacks communication. In the beginning, they would reach out and let me know ahead of time about my appointments. But then no one would should up. Then once that was straightend out, the person that was coming out never gave any advance notice after asking multiple times ( I am in meetings a lot of times and if someone is coming to my home I need to plan accordingly). A half day to a day is not sufficiente notice. Then I explain the problem we are having again at the last few visits and it is never addressed. I called the office and explained the issue and my frustation- a manager was suppose to call, never heard from anyone, then the tech called me. At his last appointment he told me I needed to schedule a follow up in 2 weeks. So I called last week to set that up, I called the Marietta number, but was routed to a different office. The lady at that office said she would have them reach out to me to set up apt. No one called, so I called the Marietta office this morning. Someone in Nashville answered and said the Marietta office is having trouble with their phones and sees that I am scheduled for an appointment this Wednesday at 11, I suppose I was going to get no notice about this apt until maybe the afternoon before. All in all it is frustrating trying to deal with this company. Since our contract is up, we will be looking for a...
Read moreI started termite and preventative pest control service with Cook's Post control August 13, 2024. May 20, 2025 I fired Cook's because they never once did a preliminary termite inspection and never even once checked anything inside the house. I had to change my card so they could no longer take money from my account. I've only ever seen them a total of no more than four times during that nine month period only for the preventative pest control and I've never seen them at all regarding anything to do with the termite prevention. I don't know if they've even come anytime other than the three or four times I was actually at home when they came, but they were taking money from my bank account every month for services I can't say they actually provided. Orkin ALWAYS scheduled prior to coming and sprayed inside as well as the outside of the house. Cook's never treats the inside, rarely comes when you're at home or at all, and just halfway does the job. Now almost two months later, Cook's is sending an invoice for May and June AFTER they were fired. Hiring Cook's has been a big mistake I'll...
