I saw Dr. Leung on 6/24/2025 for an assessment on my left eye and this was the worst experience I've ever had with a doctor. Everyone I encountered was kind with the exception of her. I want to share my experience just in case you are considering GA Retina Specialists. During my appointment, she told me that she needed to perform a procedure on both of my eyes, which was very surprising to me. She was very cold when she said that I would have loss of vision if I didn't get it done immediately and didn't want to answer any questions. When she told me about the procedure, she made a comment that I needed to be back at noon and she was only staying that late because of me. I offered to come back the next day because she seemed upset that she had to stay and she abruptly said no and left the room. After being dilated 2x, I went home and came back again at noon. After waiting an hour, I was called back and dilated a 3rd time and then asked to sign 2 disclosures. I couldn't read the disclosures because both of my eyes had been fully dilated but I was told that I needed to sign. Upon signing, I was taken into another room to have the procedure done. While she was performing the procedure, she kept yelling at me and telling me not to move when I was being as still as I possibly could. After yelling at me, she would stop herself and then say, "I know this is hard, you're doing a great job." It was very odd and came across like she had this type of feedback before and remembered that she needed to try to be kind. After the procedure, she walked me to the front, said she needed to see me in a month and promptly disappeared. There were no post procedure instructions. I was just told to make an appointment and go home. I had no idea what to expect when I got home, nor what my eyes should feel like. I've never gotten a procedure without post procedure instructions. I shouldn't have to google what I should/should not do after a procedure. Although I didn't get kindness nor post procedure instructions from her, I did get a $1600 bill. If you are considering GA Retina Specialists, please be careful of which doctor you see. Based on their reviews, they seem to be great doctors, but I would not...
Read moreIn this review, I wish I can give them 10 stars, but I’ll have to settle for five stars. My first visit I saw Dr LEUNG and she told me I needed an emergency surgery that I had a detached retina in my left eye on a Thursday. Friday morning I was already in surgery With Dr. VANDERDELDT. She did a fantastic job fixing my eye. It’s doing very well today and it was about Two years ago, I would trust no other firm to do your eyes like the doctors at Georgia Retina they are fantastic at what they do. “UPDATE” here we go again, Tuesday, three days before the Labor Day weekend. I start seeing a shadow in my right eye. I get a hold of Georgia Retina again and they get back to me immediately and Dr. OH Said I need to come in right away and this was Friday morning at 9:30 AM. He checked me out told me I needed an emergency surgery in my right eye and remember this is Labor Day weekend. But that didn’t stop them. He said you’re gonna be in surgery Saturday morning at 7:30 AM. The surgery went very well with Dr. Chapman. Then he saw me Sunday morning at 11 AM to make sure that my eye was doing well after the surgery. For the rest of the Labor Day weekend I rested . Today is Wednesday, September 3 2025 . I just met with Dr Oh And he said my eye is doing very well again I would trust nobody than Georgia Retina to take care of your eyes and believe that I’ve been through this twice the doctors and the staff are wonderful. Use nobody else, but...
Read moreI have been seeing Dr. Kho at the Gwinnett location for more than three years and it has been a positive experience. Very friendly staff and punctual. Also, Dr. Kho listens to me as a patient. I get a shot in my right eye every 8 weeks and early on, we realized that I need a few numbing drops. Recently, I moved to Adairsville and changed locations to the Marietta office. It is unbelievable that there could be such a drastic difference in two locations for the same company. At the receptionist desk, there was no friendly "good morning, just a half hazard "what is you name." My appointment was at 9:00, but it was close to 9:40 when they called me back. I explained twice that I would need a few extra numbing drops. Instead, when the Dr. Sharma put the sanitizer in my eye, it burned and as I am telling him that it burned, he gives me shot which felt like a wasp sting. If that wasn't bad enough, the person who collects payment got argumentative with me when I told her about the experience. She said that being seen 30 minutes after your appointment time was "normal around here." When I reminded her that I was the customer here, she continued to argue. Why would anyone want to go back here when it is obvious that the Doctor nor the staff care about...
