Known as, "The Duck Pond" to us locals. This place holds particular place in my heart. Although I didn't know when I was an unknowing adolescent, I used to come here and feed the ducks bread. Which is a no go. It dirties the water, and provides no actual nutrition. Sadly the drought we Californians faced a few years ago caused a majority of the mallards, geese, and other birds to migrate elsewhere. The cool ones stayed though. Also I used to catch crawdads on the green pontoon bridge that was once afloat there. Sadly after years, and years.... and years of just being there. The bridge broke apart after a strong storm. All this aside, what was once a man made pond has turned into a beautiful micro wet land. I vaguely remember hearing city officials saying they would repair the bridge, years have passed and still no bridge. Also, with all the gopher holes and what not in the space between with library, and "The Duck Pond". One should be careful walking and/or running there. You could easily twist an ankle and/or...
Read moreNot sure what to make of this park. Perhaps they are letting it go natural. Starts on a hill with the Marina Library at the Crest. At the bottom is a large pond. It is as if the city doesn't have the money to take care of this park. Lot of yellow weeds that out grow the grass and the grass doesn't seem to be watered. Pieces of the sprinkler system are laying around. Tree and reeds growth cover the pond's edges so it is almost impossible to see. Viewing platforms are in a dangerous state. Trails are not in the best of shape. Bathrooms are ok. Homeless pass through the area but, have always left me alone. Could be really nice park with...

Whether you’re walking your dog or taking a stroll with your partner, the trail is peaceful and quiet(apart from the side along the actual road). There are picnic tables led all along the path, as well as benches for tranquility.
Walk far enough and you’ll end up at the Marina library, where there is a small, but nice playground for toddlers. Also, there is a beautiful statue of MLK Jr, a pathway made of painted stones, and an...
