Just go to TICOS up the street, 5 minutes away and a WORLD of a difference in service 👍🏾
I didn’t want to post about this particular situation, but because they were given two chances to fix the issue and NOTHING was done, I do want to bring this experience to the awareness of visitors and shoppers.
I have been a regular customer and have spent well over $5,000 with this facility, but it appears they don’t value loyal customers. I placed an order over the phone and when I came to pick it up my fiancé asked for me to order one of the few meals she likes from this place, so when asked if I was picking up, I mentioned I was going to place an additional order. The lady at the register was the issue, she took my order, told me I could get my own salsa, even though for take out orders they are always placed inside the bags, but sure, I’ll go ahead and do it. I know for a fact the shrimp cocktail takes about 5 minutes to be prepared, but I was just waiting for 20 minutes. They gave the food to two customers that ordered after me. It wasn’t until they all started joking and laughing that I realized nobody was making my food. I stepped up and asked them if my food had been made, servers answer was infuriating because of the attitude she gave me, as if I was bothering her good time with her coworkers. I’ve been a manager for a long time, and I do want to say that I have fired people like this. Not only did she give me an attitude, She went ahead to say they were too busy to let me know, and that it had been ready. “We were too busy, but it’s there” is all she said. I get you’re busy, I am also a customer and if you’re too busy to let your paying customers know their food is ready, maybe you’re not meant to be in a fast paced environment. Perhaps it’s just not the right job for you. Restaurants require excellent customer service to ALL of...
Read moreUpdate Jun 2025: Customer service has taken a nosedive. As a regular customer, I am surprised they have taken me for granted. No more greetings, no more thank you. What’s going on? In addition, prices across all menu have been steadily increasing while reducing the portion (new cook maybe?). They are charging $5.50 for a regular lengua or tripa taco (plus tax!) that is insane.
Probably the only true taqueria in all of Marina. While some Mexican restaurants in town also offer decent tacos, this taqueria offers some unique speciality meats that cannot be found in elsewhere such as tripas, lengua, and cabeza. They have improved flavors and portions over the years (albeit with price increases). I am giving them 4/5 start since their tacos are on the higher price range in my list of fav local taco places. Something I like is that they offer complementary access to their chip and salsa bar with most purchases. You can also buy aguas frescas of jamaica, piña, and horchata, as well as typical Mexican sodas. The place has recently expanded and remodeled and the bar area is quite cozy. I have been a regular for many years so I can truly recommend this place to satiate your Mexican food cravings. Try...
Read moreI've been I anticipated the grand opening of Las Cazuelas. Owners Perla, Hector and Guadalupe are very friendly. The interior is new and modern. The wood theme offers a couple of architectural nuances that pleases the eye. A long curved ceiling beam hides the overhead lighting. It's a nice feature. Hector was proud to show off the salsa bar and he has every reason to be proud. Pico de Gallo is made fresh every morning. Pickled jalapenos is a nice touch that compliments the exquisite salsa bar offerings. My wife was extremely satisfied with her carne asada and bean burrito. The $8.00 burrito was large enough that she saved half for another meal. I was very satisfied with their chile verde. I had it in an enchilada with green sauce. I was offered a choice of red or green sauce and I had to go with the green. The chile relleno was authentic. It wasn't some puffed up incarnation like you see in some Mexican food restaurants. Nor was it stringy and burnt. On the whole I have to give Las Cazuelas five stars. Friendly and enthusiastic owner/operators and a simple and tasty menu. PS; Warmed tortilla chips are...
