I gave it a 5 star rating because of the type of park it is! They offer things for the entire family to enjoy! Kids, young adults, middle aged, elderly would enjoy this park. It's connected to Brookside Gardens as well. It has a play ground, cook out areas, a train and carasoul that everyone can ride! Brookside Gardens has a paved walking area around the lake. A huge gazebo over top of the lake. Then the dirt trails that go on forever. There are plenty of places to play with your dog in the open (please bring doggy bags to pickup your dogs waste) to throw...
Read moreWe were looking for a short, pleasant afternoon walk - and this little park was just the right spot. It winds along a neighborhood backyards, and paved the whole way. Parts are boardwalk, going over some wetland areas. Easy, charming, not difficult, but also not very interesting. The park is named after an extremely interesting leader and explorer - his story is posted at the entrance....
Read moreA nice suburban trail good for kids to bike, strollers and roller blade, also dogs on a leash.. The GPS does not take you to the park designated parking but to a Connecticut Avenue entrance which is not convenient with kids since you need to park 10 mins away in the neighborhood and then make your way to the entrance.
