Disappointing Customer Service Experience with Steven

I recently had a highly disappointing customer service experience at the Aspen Hill Mattress Firm store. After receiving a defective pillow a couple of weeks ago and being informed by the store manager,Emily, that a replacement was ready for pickup, I went to the store to collect it.

Upon arrival, I was met by a salesperson named Steven, whose attitude and behavior were shockingly rude and disrespectful. From the beginning, Steven was dismissive of my request for an exchange without even bothering to listen to my explanation. His tone was confrontational, and he displayed a complete lack of professionalism and customer service skills.

Despite presenting him with the receipt clearly showing the pickup date from the store, Steven refused to assist me and continued to be uncooperative. His behavior was not only upsetting but also completely unacceptable. As a customer who has previously spent a significant amount at Mattress Firm, I expected to be treated with respect and courtesy.

It is evident that Steven lacks the basic understanding of how to interact with customers in a respectful and professional manner. His conduct was disappointing and does not align with the high standards of customer service that I have come to expect from Mattress Firm.

Overall, the vast difference in treatment between my experiences with Emily and Steven was stark and disappointing. I hope that my feedback will be taken seriously, and measures will be implemented to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

I urge Mattress Firm to address this matter promptly and ensure that other customers do not have to endure similar treatment. As a loyal customer, I hope that improvements will be made.

It is regrettable for me to assign a low rating to this store primarily due to the unsatisfactory customer service provided by one individual, Steven, while Emily and another staff member, Paul, delivered excellent service during my interactions with them. Depending on the steps taken to address this issue, I am open to reconsidering my review.

I took my Dad out to purchase a new mattress. I had a list of stores we were going to visit. Our first stop was Mattress Firm in Aspen Hill. We were immediately greeted by Nawar. His friendliness, smile and demeanor made us feel comfortable from the start. This was especially true for my elderly father. Throughout our visit, there was no pressure or “used car salesman” tactics. Instead Nawar was patient and very knowledgeable. He asked appropriate questions so he could lead us to what we were seeking rather than trying to talk us into something we didn’t want. We spent quite a while making a decision. He then worked diligently to make sure we got the best deal on the mattress we chose. I asked my father if he was ready to visit some other stores before making the final decision. However, he was so pleased with the service that he received from Nawar that he pulled out his credit card and purchased the mattress from him. We went to 2 mattress firms, Sleepys, and Macy's in Philly but none of the sales people would work with us to help us find the best deal. Also, we had some issues with professionalism from a salesperson in Philly who was flat out rude. From our friend we heard about Nawar Abd Latif from a friend and were told that this salesperson is professional and would work with us. After 3 days of mattress shopping, we called him and told him the bed we were interested in and right off the bat he worked with us to make sure we got the best deal and made purchasing the mattress we wanted a breeze.
