Holle Fine Art Gallery — Attraction in Maui

Over the last 18 years we have purchased several pieces of art from a couple of the galleries on Front Street in Lahaina, Maui. Last night we visited Holle Gallery. Our experience surpassed all of our art gallery experiences. Holle Gallery has a wonderful collection of art including our favorite artist Steve Barton. Our art consultant, Kat, was very informative and friendly. We found a Steve Barton piece we loved and decided to purchase it. Having purchased several of his pieces in the past, we found the price at Holle was extremely reasonable. We were further delighted to not only receive a discount but were given another piece of art as a gift. As we were completing the transaction, we met the owners of the gallery, who like Kat, were gracious and friendly. They made us feel like family. We enjoyed the experience so much, we wound up purchasing another Barton piece. Again, the price was incredibly reasonable and we received a discount and another gift of art. It truly was the best art gallery experience we have experienced.

Holle Art Gallery is a phenomenal gallery (much better than Fine though- it’s Fantastic). Being the new gallery on the block it is so great to walk in to (and even view from the street). How the gallery is setup with superb artists and the layout of the pictures just makes ya wanna keeping walking all around the gallery downstairs and upstairs….and on their terrific balcony observing Lahaina harbor/sunsets. Tani and Jeff are wonderful gallery owners and just all around phenomenal friends! Their energy and knowledge is just fun to hang out with. Tani is personable understanding your likes and desires and works well with the artists to assist in explaining or buying. Her follow-up is relentless to be sure all your questions/info needed are expedited. Jeff, we’ll Jeff is silent but deadly. He is a terrific person that is sooo knowledgeable and friendly & just great to be around. I walked into this art gallery to just look at some art for a little bit. As soon as I showed interest in some of the pieces, one of the saleswomen asked me who my dealer was, even though I am by no means an art collector and I do not have the money to buy any of these pieces. I also noticed another saleswoman pushing a kid to buy a $650 painting in a very aggressive, unprofessional manner. I overheard her ask if he wanted to wrap it up even though he was far too young to make such a decision and seemed very uncomfortable. I was trying to make sense of a few paintings and she came up out of the blue and asked me which one was my favorite in a rather obnoxious way, even though I was about to leave. The saleswomen were very pushy and desperate to make a sale, which doesn't make their business look very good.
