Haycraft Park — Attraction in Maui

Handcraft Park i don't really consider a park. There is parking, portable toilets, out door showers, some green grass and always over ran trash cans. I would not trust walking around barefoot. There is broken glass and who knows what else. Now if you take just a few more steps to the beach that is beach. Right next to park trash can be all around but if you walk down the beach to the left or right it's wonderful. Water is a bit ruff for me there so I don't swim there. I just wasn't comfortable with the strength of the waves there but plenty of other people do. Weekend can be very crowded with locals. Weekdays less busy. There is no playground. No life guard. Haycraft Park is a nice small beach park to enjoy some lunch/breakfast on using one of the two tables provided (only one was shaded when I went). However you will definitely want to bring plates as the metal tables can be quite dirty from the elements. Colonel Haycraft would be very disappointed in the poor maintenance is park has received over the years. They asphalt drive is crumbling, the lawn is dead, the picnic table is deteriorating, the foot wash on the shower tree has been taken away.
