Handcraft Park i don't really consider a park. There is parking, portable toilets, out door showers, some green grass and always over ran trash cans. I would not trust walking around barefoot. There is broken glass and who knows what else. Now if you take just a few more steps to the beach that is beach. Right next to park trash can be all around but if you walk down the beach to the left or right it's wonderful. Water is a bit ruff for me there so I don't swim there. I just wasn't comfortable with the strength of the waves there but plenty of other people do. Weekend can be very crowded with locals. Weekdays less busy. There is no playground. No life guard.
