Giving my blessings since my mother is a Japanese the original from Hokkaido Japan more than 1928 we really like to speak to somebody tell me translate some letters but they couldn't do that 15 years ago because there was too many people. There's plenty college students and members of possibly the church that could have helped translate so I could get some type of closure. Instead I just sat there and cried asking Mom for some help. If this is what a humanity is why am I still alive so there's so much hatred for the Japanese still. But I just can't keep God in my heart. Knowing that I will be Buddha one day.. and the hair in the after hopefully sooner than later. Since the farmers market doesn't take EBT everything is more wind up for tourism but actually what would it was intended for a place of worship and blessings and to get a little help from your fellow church. Now they just don't have time for the older residents like me who live about less than 10 minutes walk with the cane. Maybe longer. But it means so much to my heart to be able to talk to my mother...

Walking through the gate the feeling of respect slaps you across the face with the realization that you're standing in an area that is sacred to many, many people.
The statues, and structures on site are done with care and concern, maintained with high regard and are displayed with honor.
The burial site next to the mission is rich with history although no entry signs line the area warning wandering tourists - just being near the mounds and sand dunes, knowing what lies beneath is enough to make you stand in silence and reflection...

A Bon festival with lighted lanterns sent out to the ocean with well wishes for loved ones who have passed. Chinese New Year is celebrated also. Dancing exhibitions in full Japanese costumes are surrounded by specialty foods.
