My family had our biannual Family Reunion Mix-n-Mingle & Banquet in the C&S Wholesale Auditorium this past weekend (July 21st & 22nd) which was an EPIC FAIL. First off, the air conditioning was BROKEN which made for a very HOT and HUMID two days of events (imagine JULY in SC). The air conditioning in the hallways and rest of the facility worked fine. By Saturday evening with the caterers set up, tables and chairs set up it, was about 80-85 degrees in the room which made our Banquet experience very lackluster, to say the least. Although the C&S Auditorium is spacious, the drapes, paint, flooring, walls, etc are DATED which gave the feeling of an old high school cafeteria/auditorium. The huge windows were nice, but all the natural light was blocked by avocado colored drapes from the 70's. Not sure if MCC made it crystal clear during booking that they were expecting RENOVATIONS what would have such a huge impact on our event. The parking lot was also under CONSTRUCTION which caused dirt, sand and dust from the concrete to be everywhere. I thought this place had so much potential from the pics on Google which were misleading to say the least. Hopefully after RENOVATIONS the C&S Wholesale Auditorium will be improved to offer a better experience...
Read moreI used to be the type of person to not cry in anything and now I happy cry at great things. Tonight I went to see The Bodyguard play in the Mauldin Theater. Whitney Houston is my all time favorite singer and she shaped the way I appreciate music. I cried through the whole thing, and then after desperately trying to compose myself, I met the actress who played her part tonight and immediately started sobbing when I just wanted to pay her a compliment. She was super nice about it, considering the story is about a star who is trying to escape a crazy fan. Everyone was wonderful.
Anyway it was the best $20 I’ve spent in a long time. Get out and support your local shows....
