Kimchee Korean Market — Local services in Mauldin

I read the mixed reviews before I went, the lady (owner) is extremely stoic/professional but friendly. She answered all of my questions, told me how to rehydrate my mushrooms, how to make the sauce for my rice cakes. She showed me the difference between the fresh thin sliced pork and beef, and even told me all of the different kimchi she had. All of which were business interactions. I got her to crack a smile when she broke out her magnifying glass at the register and we both giggled. I like her! I got home and the kimchi is the best I have ever had. The fresh seaweed salad I bought is restaurant quality. I will be a regular at her store for the remainder of my time in SC; in the mean time, I will learn Korean salutations to show this lady the respect she deserves. This market is small but has EVERYTHING you could need and more! I used to LOVE kimchee the restaurant, and this is the same owner. Her kimchi is THE BEST. If you like kimchi, you have to try the different kinds here. It’s really clean, and everything was fresh. There’s a huge frozen section with all types of fish, meats and other prepackaged foods. But, there is also a large section of marinated meat such as bulgogi and spicy pork. Everything looks so good. This is definitely my go-to korean market now ❤️ the owner is so kind as well. me and my bestfriend went in here in hopes of having a good experience .. no. just to let yall know me and my bestfriend are black women . we were getting followed around the store by the owner and the cashier was very rude she slammed down our stuff and had caught an attitude with us .. now there were 2 white women before us . they weren’t getting followed around & the cashier was very sweet to them . i don’t understand how you’re a person of color but you’re racists to other poc but i will never go back here . felt very uncomfortable if i could i would give it a 0.
