Very pretty area, bigger than I expected. Nice pathways all the way around the lake. Looks great for walking, running or taking the kids and dogs out for some exercise. Good number of things to see and do and places for parties and such, but the parking seemed inadequate. Needs some trash cans scattered throughout the park though, maybe people will be less inclined to throw their garbage on the ground.
I don't think I would recommend this place for fishing unless you have a small fishing boat like a flatbottom or kayak (10HP posted maximum, but you could cover the whole area with a trolling motor and a fully charged battery in a day's time no problem). For one thing, there is a wide band of thick, fibrous grass on almost all of the shoreline so snagging is going to be an issue, I even got hung up quite a bit with my weedless rigs. Also, if there's anything big enough to catch, it's probably not in the shallow spots you can hit from the bank. There's a few fishing docks but the park was pretty crowded when I went so I can't say whether the water around them was deep enough to make much of...
Read moreAbsolutely beautiful oasis of nature. So many paved walking paths you, your family, and pets will have a delightful walk or run without getting mucky even when it has rained a lot. There is also a playground, several swing sets, an outdoor amphitheater, some military bunkers (can't actually go in), a tranquil Veterans Memorial, a horseshoe area (bring your own set), a plethera of beautiful piers, several fun bridges to walk across, and a pavilon that can be reserved through Maumelle City. There are definitely some parts that look like they could use maintenance, but overall, a wonderful place to visit. There is only one bathroom that I could find, which was located right by the playground and was open when I visited. The water was shut off for winter, but I am assuming it will be on in spring and beyond. From a photography standpoint, this park is amazing. So, many great places to take pictures of both group or individual, and nature is abundant for those...

Lake Willstein Park is a fantastic place for Maumelle citizens and visitors alike. I've spent countless hours here, both personally and professionally, and it never fails to impress. The serene lake, lush greenery, and well-maintained trails make it a perfect spot for relaxation, recreation, and even photography or filming.
A Word of Caution: While the park itself is wonderful, it's important to be aware that it closes at 10:00 PM sharp. The local police force takes this seriously, so be sure to plan your visit accordingly. Disregarding the closing time could lead to unnecessary trouble.
Overall, Lake Willstein Park is a must-visit destination in Maumelle. Just remember to respect the closing time and enjoy your time...
