Club 52 — Attraction in Melbourne

I got my poker license about a year and a half ago and I begged them for a year and a half for an opportunity to deal in the poker room and they wouldn't give me a chance to deal I never even got an audition and I told them that I was a little slow dealing Omaha but I can do everything else without any problems but it's been a while since I've been in the box but I was willing to work the tournaments and other things it's tough enough in the State of Florida to find suitable employment but I did go to school to get my license because I know I can deal very well and they wouldn't even give me the time of day and I'm very disappointed it hurt but this is just the way life is but I'm not happy about it and I just want my point of view to be expressed the room itself is nice I mean it's a poker room what did you expect the Riviera but the fact of the matter is I believed in myself and believed in my abilities that I can deal in a poker room and this particular place wouldn't give me the time of day for it and that's how I feel

I mailed them on another letter December 2023 begging for a chance to deal for Christmas I lost my home because I couldn't find work and now living in my car because I want to deal and it cost me but if they called me today to come in I go in a second but they won't 😢. I want a job for Christmas but they never responded to me ever. 😢.

My license expires 6/2024 They wouldn't give me a chance - it doesn't matter that i went to school, it doesn't matter that i can deal even though i never worked in a room, i know how to do the games as well as anyone if given the chance -- because of that - i will never deal and do something i love to do because these managers are on a power trip of anger, decide whom gets hired based on how they feel in that moment - i can deal -- there is no doubt -- but because i chased this dream 2 years ago -- i am homeless with my family -- i am not appointment setter/telemarketer or anything else but a poker dealer, i will get a job because these rooms are on power trips - i wish someone would reach out to me and offer me a job to deal just once - 15 minutes on the floor, they would see i am the perfect person...

I took my annual trip to the track to bet on the Kentucky Derby. I have been doing it since I moved here 8 years ago. To my surprise, the place was nice and spiffy except grass growing out of the paved parking lot that is not used that much. They should use vegetation killer to get rid of it, it only ruins the blacktop. The place as clean, and the bathroom was extra clean. With a sheet on the wall that the guys had to sign that cleaned and inspected it. The dogs of course have gone for the season, but they had a jumbotron in the grandstands on the wall that looks out at the track. I didn't stay long, I usually place my small bets, to enjoy the race, have a beer and a hot dog from those lovely ladies, and leave. I talked to a very friendly security lady and she was very nice, and pretty. I tell you the place is coming back. Now they have to get the word out, that it is even there. Do you know many people outside of Melbourne have no idea of the track, anymore. One reason is they have Club 52 plastered all over the sign, because the last nitwit manager thought that was the future of the track. Race tracks are race tracks and people want to come and see a race, even if it is cats. Get a better sign up. I believe in the track and the attraction it has. When I had a place in Sarasota, Florida, the track drew a lot of people, and they can do it here too. They have plenty of TV's, and a great bar area, and the betting window people are the best. I will not be returning they were great when they first opened but they have gone way down hill. I sat down at a one - two no limit table the only one open and had to get up and leave. Even though I live in the area I felt like I was interupting the locals from playing. The table rules on phones were not being followed. I mentioned it to the dealer and she told the player to not mess with her phone while she is in a hand. The player got pissed and stood up from the table leaving her chips then all a few minutes later shows back up with freinds. She starts using her phone again during the hands but I wasn't involved in the hands so I ignored it. Then her friend sits at the table looks at her cards folders and immediately texts her friend because I feel the vibrate and the player still involved in the hand looks at her phone. I got up left I was done. I told the house manager what was going on they did go talk to the table but that just makes me look like the bad guy! Obviously they aren't stressing the rules to the dealers and the dealers aren't enforcing it and the amount of trash talking at the table was horrible. No wonder why the place was...
