I went to the mall yesterday and was asked to leave twice by the cleaning lady. I went to a store inside the mall to pick up a package. The store was hard to find because there were no signs giving directions. Once I found the store, there was nobody there. But there was a sign with a phone number. I called the number and left a voice message. On my way out of the mall I stopped by the print shop and looked at a few displays. By the front doors, just as you enter the mall, there are two signs: One for their code of conduct and the other was their mission statement. I paused at the front doors just long enough to read the code of conduct. That was when the cleaning lady asked me to leave. She said that the mall was closed. The time was just after 3pm. When I got home a lady from the store in the mall called me to come pick up my package. I told her that the cleaning lady just told me that the mall was closed. The lady from the store told me that the mall was not closed, and that my package was ready for pickup. So, I went to the mall at 4pm and picked up my package. On my way back out this time the cleaning lady confronted me again and accused me of loitering. I told her that I had just picked up a package. I showed her the package. She threatened to call security and have me kicked out. I have about 3 more packages already enroute to that mall. After I get those packages, I am going to have my packages mailed to my home so that I will never have to go to...

Hickory Ridge Mall has been a shell of what it once was, especially after the devastating tornado hit years ago. The tragedy, which claimed lives, seemed to mark the beginning of the mall’s decline. Since then, the mall has never really bounced back. It’s often referred to as a “ghost town” — most of the stores have closed, and the few remaining businesses struggle to draw in foot traffic. Walking through the mall now feels eerie, with empty hallways and quiet spaces where bustling stores once were. It’s a shame because the mall was once a lively community hub. While some small businesses have tried to make a go of it, it’s clear that Hickory Ridge Mall still hasn’t recovered from the impact of that horrific event. For anyone hoping to shop or spend time there, be prepared for a somber experience. It’s a reminder of the storm’s lasting effects on the area. Unfortunately, unless something major changes, it feels like the mall is unlikely to return to its former vibrancy. You can adjust the tone or specific details based on your feelings or experience...
Read moreThe mall is extremely clean but yet rather empty however the few shops that I saw in operation were busy. I frequent 'Phase One' a place that sells salads and needless to say, I will be going back. My daughter Snapchat the salad but I didn't take any photos The salad was a Veggie salad but they also serve Chicken and Salmon, which I was told was delicious. It has taken me a couple of years to finally frequent Phase One but it will not be that long before I go back. My husband and I agree at least one salad two times a week. I purchased a large and 3 of us ate from the salad. Portion sizes really would have allowed possibly 6 people to eat from it. Okay I've said enough, lol. Today is Tuesday and I will be back on that side of town Friday. So I guess Friday will be...
